Who We Are
• Benjamin and Sanjay to introduce themselves
• Introduce D/P/S services + locations
• Benjamin has focused on educational design for the
past 15 years at Dekker/Perich/Sabatini. As a
Principal-in-Charge of K-12 Education, he leads
project teams through all phases of planning, design,
and construction administration. His project
experience informs Benjamin’s understanding of the
issues facing primary and secondary schools from
funding, to teaching models and classroom
technology, to constructability and innovation. He
believes that properly planned and well-designed
facilities play a vital role in successfully delivering
education.
Who We Are
• Benjamin and Sanjay to introduce themselves
• Introduce D/P/S services + locations
• For 15 years, Sanjay, a firm principal, has
focused on the advancement of educational
facilities and has designed a number of award-
winning schools. Sanjay’s primary concern is
ensuring flexibility and functionality to support
learning today and for generations to come. He
is an expert in designing schools that
accommodate today’s educational programs,
planning for the capacity to add new
technologies, easily transform classrooms for
new educational models, and adapt spaces for
various activities.
• A4LE is a Registered Provider with The American Institute of Architects Continuing
Education System (AIA/ CES). Credit(s) earned on completion of this course will be
reported to AIA/CES for AIA members.
• The programs presented at this conference are registered with AIA/CES for continuing
professional education. As such, it does not include content that may be deemed or
construed to be an approval or endorsement by the AIA of any material of construction
or any method or manner of handling, using, distributing, or dealing in any material or
product.
• Questions related to specific materials, methods, and services will be addressed at
the conclusion of this presentation.
> AIA / CES
> LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Participants will be able to describe design principles which relate to project based
learning environments
• Participants will be able to assess the appropriateness of various design strategies
that promote collaboration and teamwork in a learning environment
• Participants will be able to define their own vision of forward-thinking educational
campus design and apply the lessons from this evaluation to inform school design
efforts
• Participants will be able to communicate how the applied strategies can improve
student communication, engagement, and learning
