Don't Fear the Research!

Eva Kaniasty, president of UXPA Boston, gave a presentation about overcoming fear in the design process. She emphasized that research provides valuable insights, resistance is natural but design challenges can be addressed through testing and collaboration, and taking risks leads to improved processes, good decisions, and the most rewarding part - fun. Fears include wasting time and money, uncertainty, and potential re-work, but the benefits of gaining knowledge and working through challenges together outweigh these risks.
