This document presents a dosimetric evaluation of multileaf collimators (MLCs) for irregularly shaped radiation fields in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including 3D conformal radiotherapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). It outlines the importance of accurate MLC characteristics for optimizing treatment delivery and discusses the comparison of dosimetric parameters at 6 MV and 10 MV photon beams, revealing higher dose rates and penumbra for MLC-only fields. The findings suggest optimizing standard collimator jaws to minimize surface dose and improve overall treatment accuracy.
