What is drip irrigation.?
 Drip Irrigationis a type of irrigationthathas the
potentialto save water and nutrients by allowingwater to
drip slowlyto the roots ofplants.The goal is to place water
directlyinto the root zone and minimize evaporation.
Components required:
1.Arduino uno.
2.Moisture sensor.
3.Flow meter.
1.Arduino uno:
•It is a open source hard ware
and software device.
•14 digital input and output
pins.
•Supports c and c++ language.
•Input power should be 7-12v.
2.Moisture sensor:
Moisture sensor measures the volumetric
content in soil.
3.flow meter :
•It is used to supply water which is
electrically controlled.
• It can be triggered on/off by sending
signals.

Advantages of drip irrigation :
1.Fertilizer and nutrients loss is minimized.
2.Soil erosion is lessened.
3.Recycled non potable water can be safely
used.
4.Field levelling is not necessary.
5.Weed growth is lessened.
6. Mainly used in crops like grapes, bananas ,
sugarcane, tomatoes ......,
Conclusion & future scope :
The primary applications for this project are for
farmers and gardeners who do not have enough
time to water their crops/plants. It also covers
those farmers who are wasteful of water during
irrigation.
As water supplies become scarce and polluted,
there is a need to irrigate more efficiently in
order to minimize water use and chemical
leaching.
