#2:Electronic Marshalling provides single channel integrity, eliminates the need for cross-wire marshalling, eliminates risk of late project I/O change orders by allowing I/O to land in up to one of four controllers on a per channel basis, and decouples process design and I/O layout work from projects. Remote I/O on its own can do none of this. The fact that Electronic Marshalling can be remoted only provides added flexibility benefits to the user
