- 1. EMPATHY MAP Interview of Sofia, graduating from HEC Business School and writing her master thesis about open innovation and social entrepreneurship

She says: *« I had a bac S, than I did a « classe prépa économique et commerciale » and then I could enter HEC Business shcool » *During my studies,, « I didn’t specialized in a specific field » *« I was not busy with classes so I got involved in many students associations » *« I am in a trilemna between 3 choices: social entrepreneurship, internet and new technologies and consulting **« The best would be to find a job that combines social entrepreneurship and digital media » *« I will end up doing consultancy in a big firm, which is interesting because you see different things and learn » *« I need to be realisitc, I am asking too much: I want a long-term contract in a social enterprise with no previous experience » *She did an interview « because someone contacted her on Linkedin but I was not looking for it » *Now, writing her thesis, « I help my friend to get busy and because it is interesting » *She doesn’t contact anybody to help her *« I am not looking for a job right now » *When she looks for a job, « I will answer to job offer in the school intranet, answer to consultancy job offers for january, do some job research » She does: *She is pleased to answer the questions and try to explain carefully what she thinks *She realizes during the interview that she says a lot but doesn’t do anything *She looks resigned to her situation, with few hope *She tries to convince herself that she is taking a good decision

She thinks: *She has no specific skills *She has no validated experience *Her profile is not attractive for social entreprises because she wants a long-term contract but has no experience *She has to set up her own business if she wants to work in the social business field because there is no job opportunity there *She can gain experience working in consulting for 2-3 years and then work in the field she wants *The social workers at french « Pôle Emploi » don’t know her profile and the fields she wants to work in and cannot help her *The school cannot help her She feels: *She needs to talk to somebody to clarify her ideas, her ojectives and her profile, and to know more about the opportunities she would have *She is alone in this problem *She changes ideas all the time *She doesn’t want to choose so just doesn’t do anything right now *She is going to give up rapidly and choose the facility and work in a consulting firm for 3 years *She is disappointed but needs to be realisitic

PROBLEM STATMENT Sofia, A young and talented graduating student with a master in the leading business school in France, Passionnated by different fields of activities, With one year of experience and 2 internships in digital companies. Because: She is going to choose an « regular » job in a consultancy firm just because she lacks information and contacts and thinks with misconcepts. Needs a way to : Know/discover/be aware/be informed of all the job opportunities and entrepreneurial possibilities in the fields that she is interested in (digital media and social business)
