shopping mall, a library, skyscrapers, and so much more. Architecture is a very interesting career
that I would like to learn more about. I will be discussing why I chose to research this career and
the different types of architects there are, the average annual salary an architect makes, what they do
on a daily bases, how much education you need to be an architect, and the pros and cons about
being an architect. Not only will I be discussing these topics, but I will also research what tools an
architect uses, the best places for an architect to live at, and the top schools to get an architecture

landscape architecture, and green architecture. Residential architecture focuses on designing homes.
A lot of the times a residential architect will work with private clients. Commercial or public
architecture focus more on public buildings like shopping malls, hospitals, airports, and other public
places. Industrial architecture is more of an engineer. They work with building bridges, dams, and
other technical projects. Then there is landscape architecture, which focuses on outdoor areas. This
type of architect will design gardens, parks, lawns, and other public destinations that are outside.
Last, there is green architecture. Green architecture works with buildings that are friendly to the
environment.
What an architect does on a daily basis is draw a plan for a building before constructing a
building. Architects will use a lot of their creativity side of how they want the building to look.

I am most interested in being an Architect as a future career. An Architect plan and design houses,
factories and any other structures. This kind of matches my career workstyles because my
number one work style was investigative and this somewhat matches it because I guess this job

My Future Career : My Career As An Architect
My Future career consists of becoming an Architect. Being an architect means that one is a
licensed professional who works with designing a structure that is both attractive, safe, and
functional. Dan Rice mentions that, "There are three forms of visual art: Painting is art to look
at, sculpture is art you can walk around, and architecture is art you can walk through" architects
are involved in every phase of the buildings development and construction. In order to work in the
architecture field the skills required are being able to design and draw, using a methodical or

I Want to Become an Architect
Ever since I was young, I have admired intricate buildings and structures. I have always
appreciated a nice, well thought out home because I do believe home is where the heart is. I have
done lots of research on architecture, and what it takes to become an architect. I am naturally drawn

My Passion For Architectural Design
I have always had a passion for being practical for as long as I can remember, I often sought
pleasure from helping my parents build dreaded flat pack furniture. Over the years this passion for
being practical and building things has just developed into a love for structures and especially in

wanting to design these great edifices and seeing your design built for people to integrate into
part of the lives. My application to your university derives from my eagerness to study at one of
the best universities in the UK and from my desire to create well designed spaces that are both

practicality, my appreciation of architecture and hopefully in the future it should secure me a place
among some of the architectural greats.
As a designer, I am constantly studying the world around me and looking at ways in which I can
change and mould it to make it more appealing and suitable for the tasks we undertake in our
everyday lives. This is reflected in my Extended Project Qualification that I completed earlier this
year which looks into the influence of architecture on human behaviour and how this compelling link
between the health and satisfaction of the human body that is largely determined by the fundamental

What is the one thing you can do to make a design of a city a place rich in architectural conditions?
To answer this shortly, it is not just one thing, but a combination of architectural elements that make
a design successful. To make a city rich in urban conditions, various elements have to be shown
throughout the city. In my opinion, a well organized city, is a city well structured with a successful
design. To form such successful design elements such as urban pattern and hierarchy need to be
taken into considerations, in that way every single aspect of architecture included in the design

main key elements, including Hierarchy of objects, Urban Pattern, and Public Space, and the
reasons why they are necessary for an urban conditions to accomplish it's purpose of enriching a
designed city. First of all, to start building a city an urban pattern has to be established, this will
make the city look much more organized and well thought. A pattern can be chosen from a whole
list of working patterns for a city. Establishing a grid is a common way of equally distributing the
city. However, we want to keep in mind, that important buildings, such as businesses, and
government buildings must be accessible to the public, but separated from the rest of the city. We
have great examples of grids such as New York City, in New York, United States, or Mississauga
City, in Toronto ,Canada. Although, when building from scratch it is not possible to leave aside
what has already been built, a city indeed has to adapt to what is already existing, as well as to the
new global economy, social and political trends, and new issues that arise in the new era, this also
changes the structure and tradition of building and forming urban patterns. Using the existing
patterns, combined with new ones, both patterns can collide and make new forms in city blocks.

very important. Stepping through the doorway of a door is much like the thought of stepping
between a portal in between two realms. One of the most graceful examples of this transition is
illustrated through the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Paris' north transept.
A string of events and thoughts occurs to the viewer when approaching the gothic cathedral's
northern transept. We see the gigantic faГ§ade of the Church. Curiosity invites us into the structure
through the tremendous stained–glass rose. We see the rose, darkened because of the absence of light
not coming from the inside of the church. Automatically, the mind imagines the point of view one
would have from inside the cathedral while witnessing the light pass through the beautifully colored
glass. Another way that we are invited to step through the portal is through the fact that the portal
offers a space that is not totally outside nor inside, providing a smooth transition. The portal has a
