2/23
What is Estimation
An estimate is a calculation of the quantities of various items of work,
and the expenses likely to be incurred there on.
The total of these probable expenses to be incurred on the work is
known as estimated cost of the work.
4-Dec-20 3/23
Objective of ECV
.
The students will acquire knowledge in estimation, tender practices,
contract procedures, and valuation and will be able to prepare
estimates, call for tenders and execute works.
4-Dec-20
4/23
Outcomes of ECV
The student will be able to
Estimate the quantities for buildings.
Rate Analysis for all Building works, canals, and Roads and Cost Estimate.
Understand types of specifications, principles for report preparation,
tender notices types.
Gain knowledge on types of contracts.
Evaluate valuation for building and land.

4-Dec-20
6/23
Important of ECV
Estimating in construction is important because almost everyone has a
budget they have to meet for a project.
Almost everyone wants to know how much it will cost before they are
willing to start.
Estimates are also used to narrow down a choice in a contractor.
