1. We were firstaskedtocome up witha presentationindividuallyof aproduct. My product
for mypresentationwas Nike football, the otherswere makeup(Fatima),quadbike(Joshua)
and Emre (McDonald’sBurger).I will be analysingEmre’spresentation, whichwasthe basis
for our grouppresentation. He usedPrezi tocreate the presentationwhichisacreative way
to presentthe workas PowerPointisamore basicwayto presentit. He made the
backgroundinsync withthe McDonald’scolourscheme whichmade itclearthe
presentationwastodowithMcDonald’s.He researcheda lotintothe historyof McDonalds
and howit came to be whichcan getthe audience notifiedastohow the McDonalds came
to be. Alsohe explainedwhyhe chose McDonald’swhichwasbecause “it has a quick
service andvalue formoney”comparedtootherrestaurantswhichcharge a muchhigher
price comparedto howmuch itI actuallyworth.Alsobecause itisone of the mostpopular
brandsin the worldwithmore than37,000 international restaurantswhichisaninteresting
fact that he used. He thenwentonto anotherpointinhisnextslide whichwasthe target
audience whichwasrealisticascustomersbetweenage 16-34 woulduse McDonald’s most
as it isconvenientforthemtoeatit comparedto middle agedadultwhowouldinstead
purchase more higherqualityfood whichishigherpriced. The onlyweaknesswasthere
were notenoughimagesonhispresentation howeverhisspellingwascorrectand the
language made sense.
2. Emre alsovoicedhispresentationratherthanjustshowingthe slidesandexplainedeach
slide indetail ratherthanjustreadingthe wordsof the page whichis importantforany
presentationtokeepthe readerengagedtowhatisbeingpresented.He hada good amount
of eye contactto the audience while alsolookingatthe slide forreference forfactsand
figures.Alsoforthe lasthe had justlistedthe competitorsbutthenexplainedinhisown
wordsas to whytheyin the same marketas McDonald’sas theyhave the same type of
productsand have verysimilarprices. One criticismof the presentationIhave isthat Emre
couldhave increased the pitchof hisvoice more as sometimesitwashardto fullyhearwhat
he was sayingbutwas still easytounderstandashisvoice wasclear. He overall hada clear
ideaas to whatthe task was as he followedthe brief whichexplainedwhathadtobe
included. Hisbodylanguage kept the audience engagedashe was he lookedconfident
while speakingandhe usedhisarms to expresshispoint.
3. We all lookedatour presentationsanddecidedwhoshowedthe mostpotential tobe used
for our group.Alsowe chose a productthat was mostaccessible andactuallyable tobe used
inthe advertratherthan an advertthat wouldbe tooexpensive toevenfeatureinthe
advertwe made. So we wentwithMcDonald’sas we all had more knowledgeasa group
aboutcompanycomparedto my productwhichwas Nike football asonlyacouple inour
groupknowsa lotof about Nike.Alsoourgrouphada clearervisionastowhat the target
audience wasforthe advertas all of us were commoncustomersof McDonald’s andwe
realisedthatmostthe customersforMcDonald’sare teenagers.We reachedthe agreement
more as Emre had an ideaforthe advert andevencreateda storyboardforthe advertso
we were alreadyone stepaheadbychoosingMcDonald’sforour presentation.Sowe finally
decidedtouse McDonald’sforour advertand presentation. We alsoknew itwaseasierto
filmasthere isa local McDonald’sso we wouldnothave travel farto filmthe advertso we
couldeasilypurchase aMcDonalds’for the advertwheneverwe needto.We alsohad a
visionforwhere we couldshootthe advertasthere were manydifferentlocationstodoso,
such as the park. Thisideawasalsothe bestas we knew the targetaudience more indepth
as we all the grouphave usedall the competitorsandknow the similaritiesanddifferences
betweenthemandwhatproductsare soldinthem.
4. By choosingourmainideawe alsohad to lookat the weaknessesof the otherideastohelp
us make our decision.Sowe didn’tchoose the quadbike ideasitsimplyoexpensive to
actuallyhave a quadbike inthe advertand wouldbe an extremelyhardproductto
advertise, aswe wouldneedahighqualitydriverwhoisable todrive the quadbike well.
Alsoformy one (Nike football) itwouldalsobe hardtoadvertise asfilmingwouldneedtogo
to a specificlocationthere isnowhere local tobe able tofilm, asthere isn’ta powerleague
nearby. We didn’thave clearideaaswhatthe advertcouldbe either andwe wouldneeda
huge amountof people. We didn’tchoose the makeupproductaswe as a group didn’thave
a lot of knowledge aboutthe productotherthanFatimaand we didn’thave manyideasas
to whatthe advertcouldbe comparedto the McDonalds where we hadmuchmore ideas.
The third reasonourother ideaswere notsuccessful wasbecause wantedtobe able tofilm
the advertquicklyandeffectivelyandthe otherideaswere notable tomeetthose demands
as the processof makingthe advertwouldbe muchlongerespeciallywith the quadbike
whichwe wouldneedtime findsomewhere tohire andevenspendahuge amountof
moneycomparedto doingthe McDonald’sadvert whichonlycost a few poundswhichis
more ideal forus.
5. We didnothave a huge amountof conflictwhile decidingonourfinal idea. However
sometimeswe didovertalkeachotherwhile voicingouropinionaswe hada lotto say
aboutwhetherourideawasthe bestor not.Howeveronce we finallydecidedourchoice we
all agreedas to whatwe woulddonextand we were all onthe same page accordingto our
opiniononthe productfor our presentation.We understoodourcriticismconsideringour
advertand presentationasIwastoldI spoke to quickand I tookthe advise onboard. Bu
overall Ithinkwe didnothave conflictand hadgood chemistryasa group andwe all got
alongevenwhensayingeachothersweaknesses’.
