The preliminary task provided an initial learning experience but lacked depth compared to the full film opening project. The storyboard, script, and construction for the preliminary task were very basic due to its short length and limited shots. More planning, research, and complex camerawork, lighting, editing, sound design and acting were required for the full-length film opening. The evaluation of the preliminary task was also simpler than the multi-faceted evaluation needed for the larger film opening project. Overall, the preliminary task was a starting point that helped improve the filmmaking skills applied to the more serious and developed film opening piece.
