Governors should focus on high-level oversight of the school's strategic direction and hold school leadership accountable for improving student outcomes, rather than micromanaging day-to-day operations. They have a duty to support and advise the school by setting targets, developing policies, and keeping the school under review while exercising responsibilities in partnership with school staff. When making decisions about technology investments, governors should consider the anticipated educational impact on students, professional development needs of staff, and ensure the best value for money based on research.

ICT is used effectively as a tool for learning. For example, in a Year 6 lesson, pupils refined the language used in their blogging activities to help them understand how it could be used in more formal writing.
