A woman has escaped from a mental hospital and is hiding in the attic of a house. She befriends the young girl who lives there with her father and his new girlfriend. The girlfriend ends up getting killed, and it is revealed that the scary woman lurking in the attic is actually the girl's mother. The plot outline describes the characters, including the mother who has escaped from a mental hospital, the little girl who cannot talk much, the father who has no time for his daughter, and the girlfriend who suffers from depression and takes it out on the girl.
