eXact®
Strip Micro 10 has been designed to offer the user a more “Green” and cost-effective alternative to testing.
Instead of using a 10ml water sample, eXact®
Strip Micro 10 uses a 4ml water sample, which uses up to 60%
less chemical per test. The accuracy of the meter is maintained by designing the photo cell with a 20mm pathlength.
Dimensions: Instrument: 5 (W) x 3.5 (D) x 16.5 (H) cm;
(2 x 1.4 x 6.375 in)

• For water temperatures above 35°C (hot tubs), remove
and discard the strip when the timer displays “10”,
countdown continues
• Always fill the CELL to capacity (4mL)

• This result is NOT stored in CL3 unless Combined
Chlorine steps 8,9,10 are completed
• If “LO” is displayed, Chlorine is below detection limit
• To run Free Chlorine only press MENU after completing
step 7 (this result will not be stored in memory)
• DO NOT discard the sample from the Free Chlorine test if
Combined or Total Chlorine result is desired
• DPD-1 will react with other oxidizers including peroxide
and ozone
• Test immediately after filling the CELL
• When running a DPD-1 Free Chlorine test AFTER a Total
Chlorine or Combined Chlorine DPD-3 or DPD-4 test,
rinsing is very important to remove residual KI, which may
interfere
• If 0.00 is displayed you are about to run a Free Chlorine
test; if 0 is displayed you are about to run the Combined
Chlorine test portion
Micro 10 Video – Free Chlorine
16
eXact® Strip Micro CL (DPD-3)
Part #486638
17
18
• DO NOT discard the sample from the Free Chlorine test if
Combined or Total Chlorine result is desired
• This result and the previous Free Chlorine result will be
stored after step 10 is completed
• If “LO” is displayed, Chlorine is below detection limit
• After test is complete it is very important to rinse
thoroughly to remove residual KI
• If 0.00 is displayed you are about to run a Free Chlorine
test; if 0 is displayed you are about to run the Combined
Chlorine test portion
• If you press READ again, the meter will do a 20 second
countdown and will display the Total Chlorine result (this
value will not be stored in memory); immediately press
MENU to move on to the next test

• Lint or debris from test pad may detach, but will not affect
performance; test was designed with this in mind
• Clean CELL with 0.1N HCl, Distilled Vinegar (5%), or
Muriatic Acid (diluted 1:20 with H2O)before filling the
meter with the sample to be rinsed and tested
• If running multiple tests in a row, using the same water
sample, the CELL does not have to be rinsed or cleaned
with acid between each test. It is recommended that the
CELL be rinsed three times with the sample water.
• After the 20 second countdown, the display will
immediately start counting up from 1 to 120 (this extra
time allows the reaction to complete)
• The calibration of the meter is based on a water
temperature between 15°C (59°F) and 31°C (88°F).
If temperature is below 15°C (59°F), your final
Phosphate value may read low.
• This test can also be used for salt water testing.
Micro 10 Video – Phosphate
22
eXact® Strip Micro CA - Part #486629
23
24
• The Calcium test uses the Oxalic acid precipitation
method. This test is most accurate when the pool
or spa water sample is within APSP recommended
ranges for pH (7.2-7.8) and alkalinity (80-130ppm).
For best results, confirm that the pH and total
alkalinity are in these ranges before running this
test.
• To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct
sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when
zeroing and reading the sample
• It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush
with water to clean the CELL after each test to
remove reagents which coat the CELL wall
Micro 10 Video – Calcium Hardness
25
eXact® Strip Micro CU - Part #486632
26

• After the 20 second countdown, the display will
immediately start counting up from 1 to 20 (this
extra time allows the reaction to complete)

• This test requires a 1:20 (1 to 20) dilution of the
salt system sample with salt free water
• For best accuracy, strictly following Step 2 of the
dilution method is critical
• Use this diluted sample as your water sample for
the following steps
20:1 Dilution Method for Salt Test
Micro 10 Video – 20:1 Dilution Method
31
32
• This test requires a 1:20 (1 to 20) dilution of the
salt system sample with salt free water
• To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct
sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when
zeroing and reading the sample
• It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush
with water to clean the CELL after each test to
remove reagents which coat the CELL wall
• The display only gives you three digits. A “0”
should be added to the end of the reading. This is
equivalent to multiplying by 10. As an example
“213” equals 2,130 ppm as Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
Micro 10 Video – Chloride (Salt)

35
• After the 20 second countdown, the display will
immediately start counting up from 1 to 60 (this
extra time allows the reaction to complete)
• Make sure that the bottle is straight, not tilted when
applying the drops
• Shake the bottle vigorously, to mix the suspension
in the bottle, before adding the drops to the meter
• To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct
sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when
zeroing and reading the sample
• It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush
with water to clean the CELL after each test to
remove reagents which coat the CELL wall
Micro 10 Video – Cyanuric Acid
36
eXact® Strip Micro HP - Part #486648
37
38
• The Hydrogen Peroxide test is performed in
the CY7 Menu using the Hydrogen Peroxide
eXact Strip with the lookup table
• After the 20 second countdown, the display
will immediately start counting up from 1 to
60 (this extra time allows the reaction to
complete)
• RESULT DISPLAYED IS NOT THE
PEROXIDE VALUE
• You must use the table to obtain your result
(e.g. a CY7 menu result of 47 equals 90ppm
Hydrogen Peroxide)
• Chlorine, Bromine, and other oxidizers will
interfere with the peroxide test

It is recommended that the CELL be rinsed three times with the sample water. • After the 20 second countdown, the display will immediately start counting up from 1 to 120 (this extra time allows the reaction to complete) • The calibration of the meter is based on a water temperature between 15°C (59°F) and 31°C (88°F). If temperature is below 15°C (59°F), your final Phosphate value may read low. • This test can also be used for salt water testing.

  • 24. 24 • The Calcium test uses the Oxalic acid precipitation method. This test is most accurate when the pool or spa water sample is within APSP recommended ranges for pH (7.2-7.8) and alkalinity (80-130ppm). For best results, confirm that the pH and total alkalinity are in these ranges before running this test. • To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when zeroing and reading the sample • It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush with water to clean the CELL after each test to remove reagents which coat the CELL wall

  • 30. 30 • This test requires a 1:20 (1 to 20) dilution of the salt system sample with salt free water • For best accuracy, strictly following Step 2 of the dilution method is critical • Use this diluted sample as your water sample for the following steps 20:1 Dilution Method for Salt Test
  • 31. Micro 10 Video – 20:1 Dilution Method 31
  • 32. 32 • This test requires a 1:20 (1 to 20) dilution of the salt system sample with salt free water • To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when zeroing and reading the sample • It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush with water to clean the CELL after each test to remove reagents which coat the CELL wall • The display only gives you three digits. A “0” should be added to the end of the reading. This is equivalent to multiplying by 10. As an example “213” equals 2,130 ppm as Sodium Chloride (NaCl)

  • 35. 35 • After the 20 second countdown, the display will immediately start counting up from 1 to 60 (this extra time allows the reaction to complete) • Make sure that the bottle is straight, not tilted when applying the drops • Shake the bottle vigorously, to mix the suspension in the bottle, before adding the drops to the meter • To obtain optimal accuracy when testing in direct sunlight, use the Mixing Cap/Cell Cover when zeroing and reading the sample • It is recommended to use the Cell Cleaning Brush with water to clean the CELL after each test to remove reagents which coat the CELL wall
