This document discusses a diagnostic assessment model for experiencing learning. It defines knowledge as a degree of recallable awareness of something in a given context, along with an understanding of how that meaning is generated. Learning is described as the transition from not knowing to knowing. The key experiences of learning are exploration, training, coaching, and managing. Exploration exposes ideas in a way that allows comprehension and memory formation. Training provides support for adopting new concepts. Coaching creates a guide for active practice and evaluation. Managing allows using feedback to improve progress. These experiences can range from self-guided to fully facilitated by others.
