This document explains the process of rain formation through the hydrologic cycle. It begins with water evaporating from oceans, lakes, and plants due to heat from the sun. The water vapor condenses to form clouds which are moved by wind. When the clouds reach a cold area of the atmosphere, the water condenses into liquid water droplets and falls to earth as rain. The rain then flows back into bodies of water, is absorbed by plants, or re-evaporates to repeat the cycle.
