2. Did you grow up in Brazil? If so, what songs do you remember listening to as a child?

3. If you didn’t grow up in Brazil, what songs have you encountered in your teaching in
Brazil/in your life?

1. yes
2. I grew up in Brazil. The songs I remember the most are lullabies and folk circle
dances/songs:
• Nana neném, que a cuca vem pegar
• O sapo não lava o pé
• Alecrim dourado
• As flores já não crescem mais
• Lencinho branco
• Pombinha branca
And some songs that were meant to be sung while jumping rope.
• Salada, saladinha
• O homem bateu em minha porta
• Suco gelado
