What is Flickr?


       Flickr is
       	

       1.     a social-media-oriented photo sharing tool.	

       2.     restricted to jpg file format. 	

       3.     free. (A Pro account is $25/year and supports more features)	

       4.     widely used:	

              1.  75 million users*	

              2.  518 million uploads in 2012 (1.42 million per day in average)**

      1.    Share our photos available to all MIT communicators at no
            charge.	

      2.    Encourage colleagues who have their own great photos to share
            them with the MIT community to help us all produce more
            engaging communications.	

      3.    The rights to our photos have been purchased for exclusive MIT
            use in web, print, and social media projects.
