- 3. Snowball mic For this FMP for my voice over work I will be using the blue snowball ice microphone to record the voice line I will be doing for my review series. The reason for this is that the mic is designed to record be useful for audio medias such as voice recording, streaming and pod casts at a studio quality and I have had personal experience with the snowball mic as I have used it in other projects which required me to record voice lines and it has been very reliable. however, a problem that arises when using this mic is that it is USB mic meaning is connected closely to the computer so there is the possibility when recording of the mic picking up the sound fan inside the computer which can not be in the audio as it could end up overshadowing the voice lined and being distracting to the listener so I will need to experiment to see how far the mic will need to be from the computer to not pick up the sound of the fan by recording the sound of the computer for 10 seconds at different distances and see how much of the fan the mic is picking up until I find the distance that has no trace of the fan in the recording in which then I will be able to record my audio at that distance from the computer where it will just be my voice with no added fan sound,

Snowball mic but also, another problem that could arise is that the mic as stated earlier the mic is sensitive to sound so I need a quite place to record however due to the pandemic I am having to work from home so I do not have access so far to any of the quitter rooms in college to record my voice line in so I may have to record them at home which isn’t the quietest place to record voice lines so to try and fix this problem and still be able to get on with my project I will instead need to observe my house and find the time the house is most quietist then use that area of time to record my voice lines but also do my mic experiment discussed earlier and if I am able to begin working at college again I will instead book a room to record my audio in. Overall, I feel the problem I may encounter with the snowball mic are easy to overcome and I will be able get clear audio line of myself talking to the audience that can be used in my FMP project if I use the back up ideas discussed to overcome the problems of the computer fan and noisy home life.

Globmall capture card For my FMP I will be using the globmall capture card to record game footage of my online avatar doing machinima in halo 5 and the reason for me using this capture card is because it is designed and programmed to work with and retrieves gameplay footage from consoles like Xbox one, psa4 and the Nintendo switch and ill be using an Xbox one for my machinima but also it is because I own this capture card, so it saves me having to buy one, however, a problem that arises it that I've owned it for some time and the footage I record and put on a flash drive to transfer to my computer may end up corrupted and unusable for my review series so I may have to do a second take on recording game footage with a different flash drive to see if its the flash drive, and if it doesn’t work again and the footage gets corrupted then I can use my Xbox’s built-in recording system to record the game footage I need and using a flash drive to store the footage to transfer over to my computer. Overall, thou the problems I may experience with this piece of equipment may be more problematic than the microphone they are still easy to overcome as long as I follow the back up plans, I have written out then even if the problem I have written out happen then I can continue production with no problem.

Dell laptop For this project I will be editing and saving my work on a computer mainly my dell laptop at both college and at home however a problem that can arise is that if the computer dies then any work saved on there is permantlly gone and ill have to start from scratch, however I can avoid this if I save my work onto a portable flash drive then if my computer dies, then I can continue my work on the computers at York college however in that lie another problem as the computer uses older versions of adobe programs compared to my laptop which uses the most recent additions of each program so to prevent any problems with editing my work on a college computer, I will use versions of adobe program the college computer uses just in case I need to edit my work on a college computer.

Dell laptop However, a third problem arises as due to the recent pandemic I am working from home, so I don’t have access to college computers if my laptop dies however, I can still do some of my work on paper like my planning and designing my shirt designs and can later scan it in at college later to put onto PowerPoints and design program like adobe illustrate and photoshop. Overall, I feel that the problems I may encounter with this piece of equipment will be easy to overcome and I will be able to get my project done in time as long as I use the backup ideas discussed here if any of those problem arise with my laptop.
- 8. USB drive For my FMP I will be using different flash drive to store my project work such as audio recording’s, game play footage and in progress work and reason I am using this piece of equipment is it is an easy place to store my work and it’ll be easy to keep back up of my work however a problem that may occur is that I could either lose the flash drive with all my work on it or the flash drive breaks and I loss all the data on it which has happened to me in a past project which can have the effect of having to buy a new flash drive and do the whole project again which means I can end up spending more time on trying to catch up and end up not finishing the project on time or the project is left unfinished so a way to get around this problem is to use multiple back up flash drives so if my current one crashes or breaks then you simply use the secondary flash drive allowing me to continue my project unimpeded and being able to get my project done on time. Another problem that may occur is that work may get lost in existing work which in my case is a lot however a way to rectify this problem is to one have specific folder for specific work allowing for easier access and finding needing to be done work but also another way to have less of a hard time finding work is to instead use separate flash drives for separate media elements such as audio in one USB drive and the in- progress product in another, however this option is the more expensive one. Overall, I feel the problems I may encounter with this piece of equipment are easy to counter as long as I follow the back up plans, I have written out to help counter any problems that may happen during my project with this piece of equipment.
- 9. Canon EOS 4000D For my FMP I will be using the canon eos 4000d to record my live action footage for my review series and the reason for using this piece of equipment is that it is a camera design for taking very detailed pictured but can also be used to record footage which is useful for my project as I will recording live action footage for my introduction to the review series but also at the end of the review series but also, I had it to record footage for a music video project, and the footage I got was of a high quality which I want for my FMP, however a problem a may encounter with this piece of equipment during my project is getting the camera at the right height to record footage of myself as I do not own a tripod and depending if I can go back to college to get one I may have to improvise however a back up plan I have in case I cant get a tri pod is to find a object in my home and see if it tall enough for the camera to be placed on top of I plan on testing certain objects in my house to see which has the right height for me to have the camera on top of it to record myself and then taking that footage using it in my review series. Another problem I may encounter another problem with this equipment is that it could get damaged during production which could mean I won’t be ab to record footage with it, however a backup plan is to record my live action footage on my phone as most phone can record very detailed footage so I can use that as an alternative to record my live action footage allowing me to continue my production work unimpeded. Overall, I feel the problem I may have with this equipment will be a little more difficult to over come especially the tripod problem but as long as I experiment and follow my backup plans, I should be able to over come these obstacles get the footage I need for my FMP review series.

Adobe photoshop one program I will be using is adobe photoshop an image editing software as I will be using it in my FMP as I will be using the program to create and edit the designs, I plan on making for my merchandise in which I will then take the design I have made and place them on top of an existing image of a shirt or other clothing products, however a problem I may come across during my production is that there is a possibility of the program crashing and I could lose any progress on my designs which can slow down my production, however a way to counter this problem is to make sure to save regularly so if the program dose crash then I wont lose to much progress on my work and can return to it later after restarting the program or using the program on another computer, which also leads to another problem as the adobe program I use is the most recent version whereas York colleges uses an older version which means that I won't be able continue my work on my merchandise design if the program on my computer crashes so a way to counter this problem Is to use the version the college computer uses so I can continue my work unimpeded and can finish my project on time. Overall, I feel that the problems I may encounter during this my FMP with this program as long as I follow my back up plans, and make sure to use the college version I have mentioned, it will allow me to get my merchandise design done on time without problem.

Adobe premier Another program I plan on using is adobe premier which is a video editing program and the reason for me using this program is because I am planning making video reviews of each episode from the Mandalorian season 2, however a problem I may encounter during my FMP with this program is the possibility of the program crashing and me losing all of my work as stated in the previous slide on adobe photoshop and again I will use the same solution of making sure to save my work constantly and restart the program or use another computer with premier on it or I can use another video editing software such as openshot which is similar to adobe premier. Another problem I may encounter with this program whilst doing my FMP is that adobe premier requires constant access to file or it wont run in the program so a way to make sure this problem doesn’t happen, and I can continue production unimpeded it to save both the media files I am using in my video project or saved to both my computer and a flash drive, so the program has access to the media files it need just in case one option become unavailable. Overall, I feel the problem I may encounter with this program whilst working on my FMP will be easy to over come as long as I follow my back up plans, I will be able to continue my project without delay and get the work I need to do in that program done on time.

Adobe audition A final program I will be using for my FMP is adobe audition as it is a voice recording software which is useful for me as I am doing voice over for the whole review series so I can use this to record high quality audio in conjunction with my snowball ice mic however a problem that I may encounter whilst using this program while making my FMP is as stated in the last two slides the program may crash and the audio, I recorded won't be saved or encoded and the back up plan I have for this is that if I cant use this program then I will use the voice recorder program that I have on my computer which is more simpler than audition but through past experience it works well, another problem I may encounter with this program is that the audio I record may not come out well and it may sound glitchy so a way to negate this problem is to double record and pick the best option for my project. Overall, I feel that the problem I may encounter with this program whilst working on my FMP will be easy to overcome as long as I follow my back up plans, I will be able to continue my work unimpeded and I will be able to get the audio I need for my project and edit on time.

SHIRT EXSPERIMENTTATION For my FMP, a part of it will be to do some merchandise design such as shirt design and I want to have image of people wearing my designs however I won't be able to print out any designs so my ideas to get around this problem is to take an image of my self wearing a blank shirt then edit using Photoshop a design over the shirt so I want to test to see if it will work by taking a existing design and placing it over a image of a blank shirt. However, I didn’t know how to do this on photoshop, so I looked on YouTube and found a video that was what exactly what I wanted to do with my shirt designs as it showed me how I make my deigns loom like they are on the shirt. https://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=iPxxbRVN6Tg

Shirt experiment First, I found an image of a blank shirt on google as I just needed a blank shirt to use as a base in which I then copied it over the adobe photoshop during which I found an image I wanted to put on the shirt template as the plan of this experiment is to have a wish you were here type postcard design on the shirt with a location behind our 2 characters with the words wish you were here written across the photo like a relation or yourself would when sending a post card to someone which fit into what I had state earlier in the research document about search design sometime using a existing concept and adding their own spin to it the spin here being the stereotype of a post card with the work wish

I then repeated the same process I had done with the shirt base by then copying it over to adobe photoshop and then place it in the middle of the shirt in which then after I went back to google and found a location to put behind the characters in which then I tool the image over to adobe photoshop and the idea is to take out the beige background behind the character and put the location image behind them in which I also used the scale command to make the character image larger to take up some more of the empty area of the shirt, as you want to make the most of empty area you have on a base. I then hid the location image then use the wand select tool to select each beige section of the character image then using the delete tool to delete the beige color section of the character image until we have just the character and the bold outline around them and see the shirt base behind them, then I revealed the location image and then uses the scale tool to shrink down the image till most of it fit into the frame of the character image in front of it then using the select wand tool to select the area of the image that doesn’t fit into the frame then delete it, I then merge the two layers together to create one new layer.
