FORCE 14 – 4 January 2013 From the Desk of the Reserve FORCE Master Chief: What a wonderful way to start the New Year, yesterday CNR and I addressed about 130 Reserve Sailors from around the country who are temporally assigned here in DC to the Presidential Inauguration Team. The Navy Reserve has 130+ Active/Reserve Sailors assigned to the JTF NCR 2013 Presidential Inaugural Team. The Navy has always used Reserve Force ISO NDW lead inaugural support. We have been able to cut 50% of the manning requirements and execute cost avoidance. We had a excellence question and answer time, it seems that there is still some confusion out there about Fleet Ride, more to the point, is there going to be Perform to Serve (PTS)for our SelRes Sailors? The answer is No. No one is going to be forced to change their rating. Fleet Ride is an excellent tool that allows for the first time in our Reserve Sailor’s (E-6 and below) careers the opportunity to be in the same system as their FTS and Active Duty counter parts and provides guidance and allows them direct input in their career.
