This document discusses the use of LiDAR data to create high resolution forestry maps of Catalonia. It describes existing forestry maps and datasets like land cover maps and forest inventory plots. The workflow involves analyzing LiDAR point cloud data, relating LiDAR metrics to field data using statistical models, and applying the models to generate 20m resolution maps of various biophysical forest variables. These maps can be used for forest management and planning. Future work includes updating the maps using new LiDAR and inventory data and expanding to other land cover types.
