ABSTRACT: A system of microring resonator (MRR) connected to an optical panda ring
resonator is presented. The optical soliton pulse of 57-61 GHz frequency band can be
generated and used for applications in optical communications. The system uses a Gaussian
laser pulse propagating within a nonlinear MRRs system. The ultra short single and multi
optical soliton pulses within the range of 57-61 GHz can be generated and seen at the through
and drop ports of the system. This range is applicable for a short distance optical
communication such as indoor systems. The generated optical soliton pulses have the
bandwidth of 5 and 20 MHz.

1. INTRODUCTION
The 57-61 GHz frequency band is very promising, since it offers a huge amount of
unlicensed spectrum that provides very high throughput. Some standardization groups and
industrial consortia have been formed to specify 57-61 GHz transmission for wireless
applications. Researchers have found many concerns on the high bandwidth available in the
57-61 GHz unlicensed spectrum band. The micro and nano structure of the optical materials
has attracted many scientific researchers [1-3]. Microring resonator can be used to generate a
broad band of optical soliton applicable in many areas of optical networks such as wireless-
cable systems and indoor-outdoor communication [4-7]. Amiri et al. have reported the optical
output transfer function which is derived and used for a light pulse propagating within a
microring resonator at a resonant condition [8-10]. Using the optical soliton pulses, the
