Structured and standardized information for the daily need • GIS, farm management, logistics,, precision farming, virtual farming • standardiseable farm expert data (machines and their costs/benefits, fertilizer and their content, herbicides and their active substances, energy and CO2 output, crops and varieties and methods describing in a standardised manner all activities during a crop-periode) • 2. Structured information on demand • „AGRO-WIKI“ – a Wiki-like agro-database filled by national or international experts (part of it might be WP4 of EC Future Farm project – „Knowledge management“) that is linked to a FMM system and • pop up windows during standard work and showing specific news • 3. Marketing and communication tools for farmers towards their customers and chain partners as well as public authorities • 4. - 9. • Needs of farmers: • all farmer`s partner have needs: • farmers, ministries, chain partners, advisory services, science etc., but • a farm portal MUST take care at the neeeds of FARMERS • a farm portal must represent the holistic approach of farming • a farm portal must represent agriculture, forestry, environment, risk • a farm portal must integrate chain partners • a farm portal must be driven be farmers / farmers representatives • a chain partners portal is not a farm portal, it represents the partners interest • a Ministry portal is not a farmers portal, it represents the Ministries interest • a farmers portal must have access rights for farmers and visitors • access rights must be based on legal and/or bilateral agreements and • take care on one ICT principle of highest importance: Enter data only once! • and accept the rule: The farmer is the owner of the data! 14./15.05.2010 10.
