•Irregular verbs are verbs that don’t
take on the regular –d, -ed, or -ied
spelling patterns of the past simple
(V2) or past participle (V3).

24. Present Continuous Tense
The present continuous emphasizes
the continuing nature of an act, event, or
condition.

Eg:- The children are writing.
• To express an action that is scheduled in the near
future.
Eg:- I am going to my friend’s house today.
• To express an action that is taking place but may
not be going on at the time of speaking.

27. Past Continuous Tense
The past continuous tense is used to
described actions ongoing in the past.
For Example—
I was playing.

• To express an action going on in the past till
the action was stopped by another action.
Eg:- The children were sleeping when their
father returned home.
• To express an action begun and continuing
in the past time but whose time limits is not
known.
