The Floor Was Stained With Blood
The floor was stained with blood. A ragged, tri colored wool mat sat upon it. The boards would creak
even if a small mouse were to crawl across it. Underneath the blood stained floor boards was an old
cellar. Inside the cellar there was a small table, hundreds of bushels of apples, and an old wooden
chair. In the most internal part of the chair there was a teen girl named, Libitina. Her arms were tied
around the back of the chair, her legs tied to the bottoms of the chair. There was a gauze in her mouth,
and a laceration across her head that bleed profusely onto the desolate ground. Her eyes watered,
reflecting her feelings of pain, and fear. Light emerged from the cellar door showing the sillouette of a

Libitina wailed NOOOO! Adalwoof tried to wrap the gauze back around her mouth, and she kicked
him profusely. She hit one of his small knees, and he fell to the floor. When he got up what he did was
horrifying. He let out a laugh, dusted himself off, and walked up to Libitina. He grabbed a pair of
rusty plyers from inside his suits pockets. He walked up to her, and grabbed her by the throat. As she
gasped for air he tied the gauze around her mouth, and ever so carefully plucked her teeth out one by
one. Her mouth poured blood like a fountain, and she screamed in horror as her teeth would be pulled,
and twisted out. Adalwoof was so concentrated on doing it in the most precise manner. What he did
last would be the worst. He grabbed her tongue with his hand, and ever so lightly pulled it out. She
screamed, and cried in horror. Adalwoof let out a malicious laugh, and held the tongue tightly in his
grasp. To bad you can t talk anymore or maybe you could ve persuaded me not to do this. He let out a

eyes turned yellow, and he had hair petruding from every angle of him. He was a disgusting hairy

Social Aspects Of Autism
Autism is mostly defined by and impairment in speech/communication. It is made of other other
things, but it mostly is that. It comes in a scale, or spectrum, called the autism spectrum and consists
of high functioning and low functioning, with more complications. Most of the statements are
common generalizations, and don t mean that autism isn t autism without these qualities.
The most important part is how it affects social aspects. Often, talk with short sentences and phrases
instead of full sentences, or can t even talk at all (1/3 people), no matter how smart they are
(remember, high functioning and low functioning)! They don t know eye contact (In my experience, it
led to arguments), and are often repetitive in their speech.

Generational Differences in the Classroom
Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It
should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being
able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to
satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and
those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials.
This paper will examine the characteristics of these four generations, how their learning styles differ,
and what to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important for these adult students to have time to understand concepts that involve the use of
technology. The next generation to be examined is the Baby Boomers, the Baby Boomers were born in
the early 1940 s to early 1960 s. This generation occupies a lot of top executive roles in the workforce
and are not retiring as they were expected to (Levonius, 2015). The Baby Boomers were taught to
grow up questioning authority and standing up for themselves when they needed to. Around the time
this generation was in school there was a grade inflation in the educational system, and the Boomer s
strived to achieve these high grade marks. Baby Boomers were taught in a linear fashion, they were
taught by lecture, and the technology they had included overhead projectors and some videos (Warren,
2012). Since this generation was accustomed to trying to achieve high grades they became
achievement oriented adults. Education was quite a bit different from earlier generations in this era
(Olson, 2011). There was more emphasis placed on students to finish high school, and for the first
time in history more students were attending college. From both the size of the generation as well as
their impact to society, Baby Boomers have strong sense of self and a desire for involvement in their
world, particularly at work (Olson, 2011). They have a strong work ethic, and a desire to receive

Social Media and Sexual Objectification of Women
Today, we live in a world where women are sexually objectified almost everywhere we look.
Halloween used to be fun and all about candy and cute costumes when we were children, but as time
goes on, adult women can feel pressured to dress up as something sexy, like a sexy bunny, a sexy
doctor, or a sexy tree somehow. In the marketing world, we now see women portrayed as body parts,
only having their legs shown in ads to sell the latest designer shoe or their inexplicably wet lips on a
billboard to promote an upper lip wax. Even in television and in movies, women are depicted as being
very sexual by their actions, dialogue, and barely there clothing. Because of an increase in social
media, videos from YouTube are being rapidly shared between friends and amongst those videos are
their favorite music videos from a popular artist. Music videos have become more and more sexually
explicit and include the sexual objectification of women like the rest of our media, no matter what the
genre of music is. One has to wonder whether or not this kind of exposure has an effect on men and
their sexual beliefs. First, lets explore what is shown in music videos today and how women and men
are presented. Music videos now show that women just don t ever say no to sex and don t have a
preference in men. They will take whoever, whenever. On the off chance they do resist, they give in
rather easily, adding to our rape culture and the belief that no really means yes . Women are also

Essay on T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land
T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land Both the hysteric and the mystic transgress the linear syntax and logic
governing the established symbolic order. Helen Bennett It is perhaps part of the unique genius of T.S.
Eliot s The Waste Land that both critics and lay readers have repeatedly felt forced to look outside the
published text of the poem for clues as to its meaning. The text s fragmented, seemingly violated body
seems to exhibit wounds through which its significance has slipped, creating a difficulty caused by the
author s having left out something which the reader is used to finding; so that the reader, bewildered,
gropes about for what is absent...a kind of meaning which is not there, and is not meant to be there ...

Asked to describe what sort of life might spring up out of the stony rubbish (20) of the poem s sterile
landscape by an interlocutor who seems by the force of the allusion to Ezekiel to be a representative of
some sort of transcendent reality, there seems to be no way for the poet to answer. The speaker
continues in almost accusatory tone: You cannot say, or guess, for you know only/ A heap of broken
images (21 22), and it is in this line that Eliot questions the potential for meaning inherent in language.
The self is unable to explicate the nature of this life for his only language is a mere heap a disordered
pile of broken images . Here Eliot describes language as representation, and in this mode it is doubly
useless; first, because it is broken , fragmented and divorced from the very realities it was intended to
describe, and second, because it consists of mere images representations of things and not the things
themselves. One might argue that language, though only a heap of broken images, does achieve a
certain reflexivity here, for in that disordered pile of reflections lies a landscape where the sun beats,/
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief (22 23). But the space that language presents
here is a sterile, dead one, without evidence of the growth of either root or branch. Absent too are the
Starnbergersee, the shower of rain (9), and the verdant Hofgarten which

Catholic Palm Sunday Service
The performance I observed and participated in is the Catholic Palm Sunday service. The service
began outside and away from the church, allowing for the procession with the palms to the church,
where the rest of the service takes place. The physical context of the performance/service is a Catholic
church. However, the context of the service within the Catholic liturgical year is of greater
importance. Palm Sunday service occurs annually and takes place during the Lenten period (a season
of preparation before Easter, 40 days before Easter). Palm Sunday takes place the Sunday before
Easter Sunday and marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent. I chose to observe this
space because I was interested in experiencing it as a performance and viewing it through a different
lens and was also interested to see how different my experience would be this year in a different
church.
I had attended the Palm Sunday service many times before and prior to attending the service I wrote
down all the themes within the service I could recall. I planned to attend the service with these themes
in mind while trying to see how this year s service differed from the services I had attended before and
what other themes I observed in this particular performance of Palm Sunday. I both observed and
participated in the service while mentally noting themes during the service. The service lasted an hour
and a half and I observed the entire service. I found it difficult to view the service as a

Gender Exploitation, Trafficking, And Mobility Of Women...
On the 5th of March, 2001, Oxana Rantseva, a 21 year old Russian national, arrived in Cyprus and
was granted a work permit as an artiste until June of that year. This type of work permit was discussed
in a report on artistes in Cyprus by the Cypriot Ombudsman in 2003 (as well as multiple other
subsequent reports on human trafficking), clarifying that the word artiste had become synonymous
with prostitute. It was also noted that beginning in the 1990 s the majority of the women serving in
Cyprus s prostitution market were coming from former states of the Soviet Union. During this time
Cyprus was implementing stricture regulations to limit the number of women immigration to work as
artistes. Unfortunately, the report found that despite this there was not improvement regarding sexual
exploitation, trafficking and mobility of women under a regime of modern slavery (paragraph 84).
This situation in Cyprus was documented and known of by the government.
Rantseva began work as an artiste in a cabaret owned by X.A., and managed by his brother, M.A., on
(DATE). While working, she stayed in an apartment with other women who worked for X.A. On the
19th of March, M.A. was informed by the women Rantseva lived with that she had taken all her
belongings and left the apartment. He subsequently informed the Immigration office of this, later
stating that he wanted her to be expelled from Cyprus so that he could hire another girl to work in the
Cabaret. On the 28th of March, around 4

all about the Klondike Gold Rush and have many similarities, they are also very unique and different.
The first is a short story, To Build a Fire, by Jack London; the second a poem, The Cremation of Sam

Overall violent crime and property offenses declined slightly last year across much of the country,
continuing a downward trajectory even as some communities battled disparate surges in violence,
according to a new FBI report. Robbery recorded the largest decline at 5.6%, and murder was down
0.5% in 2014, but rape and aggravated assault ticked up 2.4% and 2%, respectively, the report found.
Property offenses dropped in each category: Burglary was down 10.5%, larceny theft declined by

Technology has made it to where we can shop online or from our phone in just seconds. It has also
brought us coupons, debit/credit cards, checks, organizational charts and so much more. Shopping
online can save us money and time. When shopping online you can most of the time get discounts,
buy in bulk and have items delivered to your house which in turns saves you money. Dollar Tree s
online store is a great tool to have; however, you have to buy in bulk online. With that being said that
means when you go to check out you have to have the minimum amount of each item, which can be a
pain. It is still nice to look and see what they have, and possibly buy sets of containers or anything else
you may need a lot of. Dollar Tree accepts coupons(! What does this mean? It means you can get
things for almost nothing and sometimes completely free. It helps tremendously when you have a tight
budget. Due to all the advancements in technology even your local Dollar Tree has debit/credit card
readers. Most people don t carry around a lot of money so their cards are their best friends. Have you

International Space Station Video Analysis
Ethics in a global concept is difficult to pinpoint because each country has its own culture. This
culture can affect the government and the citizens, which in turn, affects the way businesses are
managed. However, this can become a problem when companies become international. On the other
hand, there are global common values that many countries possess that can help fair commerce across
countries. These shared values come from the fact that many of the world s religions share the same
values. Therefore, relative prosperity of developed economies seems implicitly to be taken as evidence
of a sustainable form of free market capitalism that is supposed to be a universal economic destination

Strong Employee Relations Nucor s employee relations practices were a key factor in their successful
growth through the ability to produce steel at margins that could compete with imports. Perhaps Nucor

B. Why is it a social problem? In other words, what makes it a social problem? (3 marks)
Social Problem definition: A condition that at least some people in a community view as being not
wanted.
Health Care delivery is a social problem in Ontario for many reasons such as Emergency Room wait
times, shortage of health care professionals, and care of seniors.
On top of this, according to an article from August 2012 by the Toronto Star Ontario hospitals have
the fewest hospital beds per person as they get the least public funding. Yet out of pocket health care
costs are the highest in the country. (Monsebraaten Star, 2012)
C. What is the origin/history of the social problem? Here you may want to look at origin and trend, if
applicable. (5 marks)
The origin of Health Care in Canada goes all the way back to 1914 when Canada was a colony of in
the British Empire. In 1917, Robert Borden along with his Conservative government introduced

Are Suspensions Worth Our Time
Are suspensions worth our time or are they just a waste valuable learning time for the students? Well,
in my opinion, suspensions are not benefiting the students in any way. Sure it keeps them out of
trouble and causing havoc with their peers but it is destroying their education. If we would stop
suspending students the benefits would be, students are getting the education they need, they can get
counselling in school, and can benefit their future. Instead of suspending students, the school should
be teaching or let the student study or do homework instead of doing nothing to better their
knowledge. If a student is being punished for their actions, then they should have a punishment that
benefits their needs. If a student has acted up and

Analysis of a PHD Student´s Research on Investment Inequality
Summary:
In Economic Elites, Investments, and Income Inequality from the academic journal, Social Forces,
graduate Ph. D student from Ohio State University, Michael Nau presents throughout his study the rise
of an additional factor that has evidently influenced the concentration of vast amounts of income
among the elite class, income from investments. In this era, the common belief is that demographics,
labor market institutions, and technology are causing the inequality to rise and for the elites to produce
astounding amounts of income. Nau s findings present how the debate over the incomes of the elites
has to be expanded apart from the working rich class to also include the income producing wealth. In
addition, Nau presents how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, he mentions the sociological and economical view, which is the belief that the rise of
inequality is due to institutional changes such as the fall of minimum wage and the loss of union
power. However, when it comes to the income of the elites he argues that the income growth due to
investment is a imperative fraction to this confusion of how the wealthy are accumulating unlimited
amounts of money and causing social inequality.
Nau then explains how there are three hypotheses to the shift in economic power toward the investors
and their concentration and growing income share during the decades of 1990s to 2000s. In the first
place, Nau presents the hypotheses that the income concentration of the wealthiest was being driven
by investment gains. At the same time, he presents that also at this time, top income households took
on the title of investors imitating their behaviors and characteristics. Finally, his third hypothesis states
that both the contribution of investment income to income inequality increased relative and changed to
non investment income.
When it comes to the data and methods, this study used the Federal Reserve Board s Survey of
Consumer Finances (SCF), which is a repeated survey that includes the information on household
income and wealth holdings; the Federal Reserve conducts this survey every three years. To test the
hypothesis there are

Economics and Change Dimensions of Professional Practice 08/02/2015 Economics and Change
Introduction Health care in America is at the center of controversy. It is a progressive and rapid
changing entity. Since the 1970s, America has seen many different types of programs and funds
created to help solve the issue of the cost of health care. Many of these programs are on the brink of
bankruptcy and have not done far enough to make it more affordable and assessable. Actually America
has the most expensive healthcare system in the world and not only is it the most expensive, but in
many areas such as quality of care, America is no where near the top among developed countries
(Davis, Stremikis, Squires, amp; Schoen, 2014). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This approach would greatly benefit people that are already under some type of government
healthcare because the government would find the best companies to work with in order to provide all
types of care from a routine visit to hospice. These companies would then charge the government only
for the services provided. This is where there is a big problem. Right now pricing for most of
American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the Specialty Society Relative Value
Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). This is problematic because this committee is
deciding the prices rather than the actual cost of products. If this process was changed then people
could use rationalization to determine that a government ran universal healthcare system would be in
the best self interest. Healthcare Committee Committees are very important in improving and
discussing ways to improve healthcare in America. There are many different types of committees that
would be assembled, but the most important one would be one to replace the RUC. An example of
what is wrong with the RUC is demonstrated in a balloon needed for sinus surgery. The balloon itself
costs 2,600 dollars to be made. The RUC priced it at 3,000 dollars for each procedure. This balloon
can be used up to 6 times before a new one must be used. Six procedures could be done with one
balloon that costs 2,600 dollars and Medicare will

Baseball Hall Of Fame Museum Analysis
Museums are supposed to tell a story about something that has happened in history. They are expected
to be factual and tell the whole story. The good, the bad and the ugly are there nothing left out. They
do not pretend that an entire portion of history did not happen because it s inconvenient (Stark, 2015).
The Baseball Hall of Fame museum also tells a story. The story of America s past time, the game s
greatest accomplishments and all the times records were shattered and barriers were broken. Why
should one of the greatest players of all time, the hit king , the player who has the most hits ever
recorded in Major League Baseball history be left out (Stark, 2015)? His story, the good, the bad and
the ugly should be honored on the walls in Cooperstown, Pennsylvania; home of Baseball s Hall of
Fame. It is an integral part of the history of the game and it is time to stop pretending Peter Edward
Rose was not one of the greatest baseball players of all time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

happened to him. Rose had used up his four years of eligibility in high school and therefore was
forced to join a Class AA team in Lebanon, Ohio his senior year of high school. Luckily, sports and
the enthusiasm for them ran in Rose s family. His uncle was a scout for the Cincinnati Reds and made
a case for Pete Rose to join the Major League team out of high school. The Reds decided to take a

Reducing Carbon Footprint At the Coca Cola Company, packaging plays an imperative function to the
business in reaching customer demands and avoiding waste by securing the products during delivery.
To make a boost in development, they are approaching sustainable packaging, new ideas include
resource reduction, recyclability, using more recycled and renewable supplies, and getting consumers
to take part in this beneficial campaign. Research demonstrates that easier access to recycling bins is
an indispensable component that expands restoration of recyclables in communities. As a result, Coca
Cola pushed to supply several thousands of bins in neighborhood, annually. They also invest in bottle

sustainability initiatives in their product s packaging. In order to obtain this goal they have ideas to use
less material, make packaging 100% recyclable, and increase renewable material in their packaging.
After collaborating as a team, they came up with the ambitions of working with partners to restore and
recycle 75% of the cans and bottles developed by 2020. So far Coca Cola s progress is predicted to be
on track, with an estimated 61% bottle and can renovation. Consequently, Coca Cola made a shorter

Female Genital Mutilation ( Fgm )
INTRODUCTION
Female genital cutting (also known as female genital mutilation) is one of the most prevalent
violations of the human rights of women in the world. As of 2010, 100 to 140 million female bodied
people were living with mutilated genitalia. According to the United Nations, Female genital
mutilation (FGM) comprises all procedures that involve altering or injuring the female genitalia for
non medical reasons. Female genital cutting is a practice that is generally directed at female bodied
people under the age of 18. International institutions such as the United Nations call it a violation of
the rights of the child... [a violation of] the rights to health, security and physical integrity of the
person, the right to be free from torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, and the right to life
when the procedure results in death.
It is a practice that has been proven to not be effectively combatted by international legislation,
national legislation, human rights advocacy, or educational programs. However, human beings operate
based on cultural and social norms. Female genital cutting is a practice that is enforced by social and
cultural norms in the places where it is common. Thus, one of the most effective methods of
combatting FGC involves community based organizations, which must work together to create norm
based social change in order to alter the cultural beliefs that allow FGC to endure and spread, thereby
eliminating or curbing the practice.

Music, The Orchestra, And The Romantic Symphony
Since the beginning of the semester, I have learned three concepts about music in western civilization.
The 3 concepts I have learned is elements of music, the orchestra, and the romantic symphony. Theses
concept are very interesting to me because I don t have any type of musical background and I got the
chance to learn about how music really started. There are many elements I learn when it comes to
making an orchestra and composing a music program. An orchestra is a group of musicians that come
together to make background music for a TV show or movie. During the class, I learn that they also
provide concerts, ballets, and opera to the public. According to English online.at The word orchestra
was first used by the ancient Greeks and meant the front part of a stage. During the Middle Ages, it
also included the musicians on the stage. The orchestra has a lot of history that goes back to the late
6th and early 7th century. The orchestra group was organized by the kings and queens of Italian and
French churches. They used string instruments to perform at dance parties, ballet, and operas. This is
fascinating that the orchestra music goes back as far as the late 6th century. I could see how
Beethoven, Smetana, Tchaikovsky and among other have made amazing orchestral music and how
they were influenced by it. When the orchestra is playing it could have 10 or more instruments.
During class, I learn that when we talk about the orchestra it usually means a symphony orchestra. A

Comparing Miles Archer And Sam Spade In The Maltese Falcon
Sam Spade, the detective from The Maltese Falcon shows characteristics of a hard boiled detective.
Hard boiled detectives are considered to be tough on the outside when dealing with clients, but also
hard on the inside and do not show any emotion about what they are feeling. Spade gives off this vibe
whether he s talking to attractive women, or if he is in an altercation with his enemy. In The Maltese
Falcon, a woman named Miss Wonderly is brought into detective Sam Spade s office by Effie Perine.
Miss Wonderly explains her situation to the two detectives in the room, Sam Spade and Miles Archer.

How Significant Was the Presence of Foreign Powers as an...
How significant was the presence of foreign powers as an influence on the nature and growth of Arab
nationalism in the years 1900 2001?
During the years 1900 2001 a number of significant interventions occurred which affected the growth
and nature of Arab nationalism. Several key pressures considerably influenced a change in the nature
of nationalism; including, economic levers, agreements and military presenses in the Middle East.
Arab nationalism arose out of the fear of the possibility and later the certainty of European or
American dominance. The emerging ideology believed all Arabs to be united by both a shared
language and history. Foreign intervention in the Middle East long predated the First World War,
dating back to during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was also true of the Arab fighters in the 1916 Arab revolt aided by the British; they wanted gold
and weapons much more than Arab independence. Cleveland highlights these points and the fact that
the promises made in the correspondence prompted contentment on both sides, as the British wanted
to see the fall of the Ottomans and Hussein wanted leadership. However, McMahon s language was so
ambiguous and so vague..[that it has] given rise to conflicting interpretations over whether Palestine
was included as part of the future independent Arab state . It is for this reason that the Arabs began to
distrust Britain. The correspondence was between the British high commissioner, Sir Henry McMahon
and descendant of the prophet and Arab leader, Sharif Hussein. For the British it was a useful
agreement as they already saw the Ottomans as a threat. However in the long term it caused unrest in
the Middle East and widespread distrust of Britain. The agreement is useful in showing the unclear
language used by the British to avoid either having to give land to the Arabs or create an argument.
Deborah J. Gerner agrees with Cleveland in that secret agreements , caused Britain especially to be
viewed negatively by the Arabs; It is clear from this agreement [Sykes Picot] that Britain had no
intention of fulfilling its commitment to support Arab independence in the Levant at the end of the
war, whatever might have

Catholic Church Sex Abuse Scandal
An Introduction to the Issue Throughout the 20th Century, thousands of reports about Catholic priests
and bishops sexually abusing children have been and are continuing to surface into the media. These
reports have been dealt with internally by the church rather than civil authorities. In addition, the
church has also been covering up many of the reports, paying over two billion dollars to prevent the
scandal from being leaked into the public. A letter from the Vatican written in 1997 expressed serious
reservations about reporting priests that were suspected of sexual abuse. The church has been hiding
reports and avoiding suspicion by not acting guilty. Instead of bringing the issue public they have
instead launched a three year investigation of U.S. women religious congregations which cost over
three million. The Vatican leadership also ordered a doctrinal evaluation of the U.S. women religious
leadership s central network, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. Furthermore, bishops
have issued press releases as well as reports and studies. The United States Conference of Catholic
Bishops published two reports on February 27, 2004. The first report written by the John Jay College
of Criminal Justice included the data and statistics of the sexual abuse reports while the second report
written by the National Review Board talks about the cause and effect of the problem. In addition the
USCCB has also enacted the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young

What Are The Parasites Of Atlas Shrugged
The Parasites of Atlas Shrugged
In this world, and in the world of Ayn Rand s imagination, there are two kinds of people: those who
live to create, and those who wish to live as parasites feeding off the benefits of those creations. In
Atlas Shrugged, she explores what might happen when the creators of the world stop creating; the
parasites are left to try to live on their own. The novels that Miss Rand writes always reflect this sort
of thing. She writes of the battle between the two types of people as some write of the battles between
good and evil. In reality, each side of the battle can be equated in such terms. These writings provide a
detailed analysis of the two forces, and leave the reader with a profound sense of vitality ... Show

He had himself convinced that he was doing the world a favor by holding back his sister, Dagny, an

advocate of such practices as indiscriminate charity and pity, informed him of his supposed social

Negative Effects Of Andrew Jackson
Throughout the history of the United Sates, presidential actions have impacted the nation in varying
degrees. One such example includes the 7th president, Andrew Jackson. With his victory in the
Election of 1828, Jackson s presidency brought about both positive and negative effects that affected
various groups in distinct ways. Therefore, several perceived him as a national hero, while others saw
him as a villain, and a few were ambivalent about what to think of him. Finally, the effects that
resulted from his actions have marked American history politically, socially and economically.
Jackson s Presidency has had a positive effect on American society. For instance, one of his
accomplishments included the expansion of rights for the common men. As seen in Document One,
Thousands and thousandths of people, without distinction or rank, collected in an immense mass
round the Capital... This shows how for the first time, the common men was allowed to the presidents
inaugural address, which was a big political step for them as they previously didn t had this privilege.
Moreover, another action taken by the president, which was regarded as an act of heroism by the poor
individuals, was Jackson s decision to veto the national bank. Jackson believed that the bank provided
an exclusive privilege of banking and concentration in the hands of a few men (the rich), and was
leaving the poor in oblivion. For example, Document Two states But when the laws undertake to...

Physician Assisted Suicide And The Rights Of Patients
Physician assisted suicide needs to be recognized by the federal government to show terminally ill
patients that their right to autonomy is not being ignored. The Bill of Rights of Patients was
constructed to outline just this. According to the American Cancer Society, the American Hospital
Association drafted a Patients Bill of Rights to inform patients of what they could reasonably expect
while in the hospital. One of the notes stated in the Bill of Rights of Patients is the right to autonomy.
The right to autonomy specifically states that patients have the right and ability to make their own
choices and decisions about [the] medical care and treatment that they receive (US Legal). If this right
to autonomy is ignored what rights do terminally ill patients have? The answer is little to none.
Physician assisted suicide and the right to autonomy go hand in hand. The more knowledge that
people have, the greater their ability to make educated and insightful decisions about the medical
choices that are accessible to them and their families. Physician assisted suicide should be like any
other treatment someone can ask for, and the right to autonomy protects this doctor patient agreement.
Physician assisted suicide should be readily available to all terminally ill patients to illustrate to them
that their tremendous pain and suffering does not have to be prolonged.
Everyone should be able to choose when and how they want to die, and they should be able to do so

Theseus And The Minotaur Research Paper
The Minotaur Have you ever heard of the ancient Greek myth of the Minotaur? The Minotaur was a
great beast, that lived on the Island of Crete, ruled by King Minos. The story of the Minotaur has been
around for about 3,000 years. The tale of Theseus and the Minotaur is a fabulous story of terror, joy,
and then sorrow. The story of Minotaur is arguably one of the most popular of the Greek myths, and
has been alluded to in countless works of art, literature, and music. Origin of the Minotaur There are
many versions of the story that tells how the Minotaur came to be. No one quite knows for sure how
the hideous Minotaur was born, but many people have ideas of how it all happened. One of the stories
begins with the god Poseidon, and his order to King Minos of Crete. The god Poseidon, the god of the
sea, sent a beautiful white bull, and asked King Minos to sacrifice the innocent creature to him.
Against Poseidon s word, The king and his wife admired the bull, and could not stand to sacrifice it.
This made Poseidon furious at the king and queen, and did something horrible to Queen Pasiphaë.

  • 2. The Floor Was Stained With Blood The floor was stained with blood. A ragged, tri colored wool mat sat upon it. The boards would creak even if a small mouse were to crawl across it. Underneath the blood stained floor boards was an old cellar. Inside the cellar there was a small table, hundreds of bushels of apples, and an old wooden chair. In the most internal part of the chair there was a teen girl named, Libitina. Her arms were tied around the back of the chair, her legs tied to the bottoms of the chair. There was a gauze in her mouth, and a laceration across her head that bleed profusely onto the desolate ground. Her eyes watered, reflecting her feelings of pain, and fear. Jordan Clary Professor Debra Owens Human Resource Management 27 September 2017 Generational Differences in the Classroom Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials. It is important for these adult students to have time to understand concepts that involve the use of technology. The next generation to be examined is the Baby Boomers, the Baby Boomers were born in the early 1940 s to early 1960 s. This generation occupies a lot of top executive roles in the workforce and are not retiring as they were expected to (Levonius, 2015). The Baby Boomers were taught to grow up questioning authority and standing up for themselves when they needed to. Around the time this generation was in school there was a grade inflation in the educational system, and the Boomer s strived to achieve these high grade marks. Baby Boomers were taught in a linear fashion, they were taught by lecture, and the technology they had included overhead projectors and some videos (Warren, 2012). Since this generation was accustomed to trying to achieve high grades they became achievement oriented adults. Education was quite a bit different from earlier generations in this era (Olson, 2011). There was more emphasis placed on students to finish high school, and for the first time in history more students were attending college. • 6. Social Media and Sexual Objectification of Women Today, we live in a world where women are sexually objectified almost everywhere we look. Halloween used to be fun and all about candy and cute costumes when we were children, but as time goes on, adult women can feel pressured to dress up as something sexy, like a sexy bunny, a sexy doctor, or a sexy tree somehow. In the marketing world, we now see women portrayed as body parts, only having their legs shown in ads to sell the latest designer shoe or their inexplicably wet lips on a billboard to promote an upper lip wax. Even in television and in movies, women are depicted as being very sexual by their actions, dialogue, and barely there clothing. Because of an increase in social media, videos from YouTube are being rapidly shared between friends and amongst those videos are their favorite music videos from a popular artist. Music videos have become more and more sexually explicit and include the sexual objectification of women like the rest of our media, no matter what the genre of music is. One has to wonder whether or not this kind of exposure has an effect on men and their sexual beliefs. First, lets explore what is shown in music videos today and how women and men are presented. Music videos now show that women just don t ever say no to sex and don t have a preference in men. They will take whoever, whenever. On the off chance they do resist, they give in rather easily, adding to our rape culture and the belief that no really means yes . Women are also portrayed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Helen Bennett It is perhaps part of the unique genius of T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land that both critics and lay readers have repeatedly felt forced to look outside the published text of the poem for clues as to its meaning. The text s fragmented, seemingly violated body seems to exhibit wounds through which its significance has slipped, creating a difficulty caused by the author s having left out something which the reader is used to finding; so that the reader, bewildered, gropes about for what is absent...a kind of meaning which is not there, and is not meant to be there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Asked to describe what sort of life might spring up out of the stony rubbish (20) of the poem s sterile landscape by an interlocutor who seems by the force of the allusion to Ezekiel to be a representative of some sort of transcendent reality, there seems to be no way for the poet to answer. The speaker continues in almost accusatory tone: You cannot say, or guess, for you know only/ A heap of broken images (21 22), and it is in this line that Eliot questions the potential for meaning inherent in language. The self is unable to explicate the nature of this life for his only language is a mere heap a disordered pile of broken images . Here Eliot describes language as representation, and in this mode it is doubly useless; first, because it is broken , fragmented and divorced from the very realities it was intended to describe, and second, because it consists of mere images representations of things and not the things themselves. One might argue that language, though only a heap of broken images, does achieve a certain reflexivity here, for in that disordered pile of reflections lies a landscape where the sun beats,/ And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief (22 23). But the space that language presents here is a sterile, dead one, without evidence of the growth of either root or branch. This type of work permit was discussed in a report on artistes in Cyprus by the Cypriot Ombudsman in 2003 (as well as multiple other subsequent reports on human trafficking), clarifying that the word artiste had become synonymous with prostitute. It was also noted that beginning in the 1990 s the majority of the women serving in Cyprus s prostitution market were coming from former states of the Soviet Union. During this time Cyprus was implementing stricture regulations to limit the number of women immigration to work as artistes. Well, in my opinion, suspensions are not benefiting the students in any way. Sure it keeps them out of trouble and causing havoc with their peers but it is destroying their education. If we would stop suspending students the benefits would be, students are getting the education they need, they can get counselling in school, and can benefit their future. Instead of suspending students, the school should be teaching or let the student study or do homework instead of doing nothing to better their knowledge. D student from Ohio State University, Michael Nau presents throughout his study the rise of an additional factor that has evidently influenced the concentration of vast amounts of income among the elite class, income from investments. In this era, the common belief is that demographics, labor market institutions, and technology are causing the inequality to rise and for the elites to produce astounding amounts of income. Nau s findings present how the debate over the incomes of the elites has to be expanded apart from the working rich class to also include the income producing wealth. Furthermore, he mentions the sociological and economical view, which is the belief that the rise of inequality is due to institutional changes such as the fall of minimum wage and the loss of union power. However, when it comes to the income of the elites he argues that the income growth due to investment is a imperative fraction to this confusion of how the wealthy are accumulating unlimited amounts of money and causing social inequality. Nau then explains how there are three hypotheses to the shift in economic power toward the investors and their concentration and growing income share during the decades of 1990s to 2000s. In the first place, Nau presents the hypotheses that the income concentration of the wealthiest was being driven by investment gains. At the same time, he presents that also at this time, top income households took on the title of investors imitating their behaviors and characteristics. Finally, his third hypothesis states that both the contribution of investment income to income inequality increased relative and changed to non investment income. When it comes to the data and methods, this study used the Federal Reserve Board s Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF), which is a repeated survey that includes the information on household income and wealth holdings; the Federal Reserve conducts this survey every three years. It is a progressive and rapid changing entity. Since the 1970s, America has seen many different types of programs and funds created to help solve the issue of the cost of health care. Many of these programs are on the brink of bankruptcy and have not done far enough to make it more affordable and assessable. Actually America has the most expensive healthcare system in the world and not only is it the most expensive, but in many areas such as quality of care, America is no where near the top among developed countries (Davis, Stremikis, Squires, amp; Schoen, 2014). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This approach would greatly benefit people that are already under some type of government healthcare because the government would find the best companies to work with in order to provide all types of care from a routine visit to hospice. These companies would then charge the government only for the services provided. This is where there is a big problem. Right now pricing for most of American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). This is problematic because this committee is deciding the prices rather than the actual cost of products. If this process was changed then people could use rationalization to determine that a government ran universal healthcare system would be in the best self interest. Healthcare Committee Committees are very important in improving and discussing ways to improve healthcare in America. There are many different types of committees that would be assembled, but the most important one would be one to replace the RUC. An example of what is wrong with the RUC is demonstrated in a balloon needed for sinus surgery. The balloon itself costs 2,600 dollars to be made. The RUC priced it at 3,000 dollars for each procedure. This balloon can be used up to 6 times before a new one must be used. Six procedures could be done with one balloon that costs 2,600 dollars and Medicare will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 3 concepts I have learned is elements of music, the orchestra, and the romantic symphony. Theses concept are very interesting to me because I don t have any type of musical background and I got the chance to learn about how music really started. There are many elements I learn when it comes to making an orchestra and composing a music program. An orchestra is a group of musicians that come together to make background music for a TV show or movie. During the class, I learn that they also provide concerts, ballets, and opera to the public. According to English online.at The word orchestra was first used by the ancient Greeks and meant the front part of a stage. During the Middle Ages, it also included the musicians on the stage. The orchestra has a lot of history that goes back to the late 6th and early 7th century. The orchestra group was organized by the kings and queens of Italian and French churches. They used string instruments to perform at dance parties, ballet, and operas. This is fascinating that the orchestra music goes back as far as the late 6th century. I could see how Beethoven, Smetana, Tchaikovsky and among other have made amazing orchestral music and how they were influenced by it. When the orchestra is playing it could have 10 or more instruments. During class, I learn that when we talk about the orchestra it usually means a symphony orchestra. A ... How significant was the presence of foreign powers as an influence on the nature and growth of Arab nationalism in the years 1900 2001? During the years 1900 2001 a number of significant interventions occurred which affected the growth and nature of Arab nationalism. Several key pressures considerably influenced a change in the nature of nationalism; including, economic levers, agreements and military presenses in the Middle East. Arab nationalism arose out of the fear of the possibility and later the certainty of European or American dominance. However, McMahon s language was so ambiguous and so vague..[that it has] given rise to conflicting interpretations over whether Palestine was included as part of the future independent Arab state . It is for this reason that the Arabs began to distrust Britain. The correspondence was between the British high commissioner, Sir Henry McMahon and descendant of the prophet and Arab leader, Sharif Hussein. For the British it was a useful agreement as they already saw the Ottomans as a threat. However in the long term it caused unrest in the Middle East and widespread distrust of Britain. Catholic Church Sex Abuse Scandal An Introduction to the Issue Throughout the 20th Century, thousands of reports about Catholic priests and bishops sexually abusing children have been and are continuing to surface into the media. These reports have been dealt with internally by the church rather than civil authorities. In addition, the church has also been covering up many of the reports, paying over two billion dollars to prevent the scandal from being leaked into the public. A letter from the Vatican written in 1997 expressed serious reservations about reporting priests that were suspected of sexual abuse. The church has been hiding reports and avoiding suspicion by not acting guilty. Instead of bringing the issue public they have instead launched a three year investigation of U.S. women religious congregations which cost over three million. The Vatican leadership also ordered a doctrinal evaluation of the U.S. women religious leadership s central network, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. Furthermore, bishops have issued press releases as well as reports and studies. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops published two reports on February 27, 2004. The Bill of Rights of Patients was constructed to outline just this. According to the American Cancer Society, the American Hospital Association drafted a Patients Bill of Rights to inform patients of what they could reasonably expect while in the hospital. One of the notes stated in the Bill of Rights of Patients is the right to autonomy. The right to autonomy specifically states that patients have the right and ability to make their own choices and decisions about [the] medical care and treatment that they receive (US Legal). The more knowledge that people have, the greater their ability to make educated and insightful decisions about the medical choices that are accessible to them and their families. Physician assisted suicide should be like any other treatment someone can ask for, and the right to autonomy protects this doctor patient agreement.
