- 2. Enterprise Introduction In this slide, we’ll discuss on how to configure proforma invoice in Odoo 18 Sales module. A proforma invoice is a preliminary invoice that serves as a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer. It outlines the terms and conditions of a potential sale, including the description of goods or services, quantity, price, and payment terms. However, unlike a regular invoice, a proforma invoice is not a legal document that binds the seller to fulfill the order.
- 3. Enterprise First we need to enable the proforma invoice from the configuration -> settings of the sales module
- 4. Enterprise After that ensure proper email is set on the customer and the outgoing mail server is configured correctly.
- 5. Enterprise Then we can go to sales module and create a sale order with the customer whom the email is set. Then required products can be added in the order lines.
- 6. Enterprise After choosing the products we can send the proforma invoice to the customer either in quotation state or in sale order state. The proforma invoice is a preliminary document used by the buyer to get an outline of their order and also they can compare the total price with other companies and all.
- 7. Enterprise A wizard open showing the subject, body of the email content including the sale order number and total of the order. Also we can add additional attachment using the attachment button.
- 8. Enterprise By clicking on 3 dots, we can also insert template or delete template from here. If we want to include an AI generated message it can be done by clicking on AI button. After that we can send the proforma invoice to the customer by clicking send button.
- 9. Enterprise Now the sale order move to quotation sent state.
- 10. Enterprise In the chatter we can see the proforma invoice is successfully sent to the customer.
- 11. Enterprise If we check the email of the customer, the mail will look like the below image.
- 12. Enterprise If the customer is satisfied with the order, you can confirm it by clicking the Confirm button.
