- 1. How to make a Blog Folio This Power Point is a step by step guide to making your own Blog Folio.
- 2. Our understanding of a Blog Folio A blog folio is an on going roll of postings. When you put labels on it, it still is a continuous roll but when you click on the labels your posts will go on to separate pages. This means you can sort your postings by Key Learning Area.
- 3. What’s the difference? The difference between a Blog and a Blog Folio is that a Blog Folio has labels. This is crucial when creating a Blog Folio because it separates the pages by Key Learning Area or topic.
- 4. Getting started To create a blog folio you need to have an email address first You need to think of a name for your blog ,a password for your blog and an address so that you can access it on the internet. Then you need to go onto blogger.com to create a blog as shown here.
- 5. Making your Blog Folio You will need to type your email address in the first box. Then you will need to type your password that you have created and check the strength. Proceed and fill out the rest of the boxes and press continue. Make sure you read all information on the page.
- 6. Naming your blog folio Type the title of your blog folio in the appropriate box eg Bill’s folio Then type the address of your blog (that you made up earlier) eg http://www.billsfolio.blogspot.com Make sure the blog address is available Press continue
- 7. Pick a template The next stage is to pick your template. You don’t get very many options here but when you finish you will be able to change Just click on the template you would like to have and click continue Don’t forget to read the information on the side
- 8. First Post with labels If you want your Blog to be a Blog Folio, it is important that you put labels on. Then what ever you put that label on, it will go to that section. It is also important that if you want a post to stay at the top you fix the date to a time far in the future by clicking on post options as shown here. E.g. 24/06/17. Make sure you add a title.
- 9. You have created your Blog Folio! Start posting .
- 10. Fonts and Colors To change your template and other settings you need to go to ‘template’. There you can arrange where you want all the things that you have on your blog. If you go to fonts and colours you can change the colours that are on this template. Don’t forget to read all information on the page .
- 11. Editing and saving your posts If you want to save your post so that you can post it later, you simply press save at the bottom of the page. To find and edit your post, press edit post on the bar and you will see all the posts you have put on your blog If you want to delete a post, you press delete at the end of the row. If you want to edit or view, you press edit or view. Remember to read all information on the page.
- 12. Settings To change the settings of your blog go to settings. In here you can change the things that are important to your blog. You will get a few different types of settings, change the one you want. In here you can change the title, put a description on or delete your blog.
- 13. Template When you want to add or rearrange your page elements, you go to template. Add as many page elements as you like. There shouldn’t be a limit. By clicking and dragging your page elements, you can change the order they are in. One of the page elements that is crucial to a Blog Folio is labels. It is important that you play around with all your settings until you are happy with them.
- 14. Comments Don’t forget…. If you want your comments to be published on your Blog, you must moderate them. If someone leaves a comment on your blog, it should appear on the dashboard of your blog. Click moderate comment and choose to reject, publish or edit. Then the comment will come up on your blog.
