- 2. Introduction Enterprise This slide will show How to Manage Work Order Dependencies in Odoo 17 Manufacturing. When we manufacture certain products, some procedures may need to be completed before others may begin. To ensure that operations take place in the correct order, work order dependencies in the manufacturing module allow operations on a Bill of Materials (BoM) to be blocked by other operations that should be performed first.
- 3. Enterprise ● Let’s check the functionality of work order dependency. ● Go to Manufacturing > Settings > Work Orders. ● Enable the Work Order Dependencies.

- 5. Enterprise ● Add the dependencies on the BOM. ● Go to the Manufacturing > Products > Bill of Material.
- 6. Enterprise ● Enable the feature ‘Operation Dependencies’ under the Miscellaneous tab.
- 7. Enterprise ● Under the Operation tab, we can view the various operations that will take place in various work centres.
- 8. Enterprise ● Add the blocked by operations for the operations. ● Here the operation for cutting the panel is completed first, followed by the operation for Assemble cable management box.
- 9. Enterprise ● Let’s create a manufacturing order. ● Go to Manufacturing > Operations > Manufacturing Orders.
- 10. Enterprise ● Create a manufacturing order for the product cable management box, select the BoM we configured, and confirm the order.
- 11. Enterprise ● Here the operations are being blocked by the work centres. ● The cutting panel operation is in the Ready stage; however, the cable box assembly operation is just blocked.

Enterprise ● Work orders that are not blocked by other work orders are shown as in the Ready state. ● In the status section, work orders that one or more work orders have blocked are indicated with the Waiting for another work order tag. ● Once the blocked work order is completed, the tag is updated as Ready.
- 13. Enterprise ● We need to plan the work orders for the work centre by clicking the Plan button.
- 14. Enterprise ● Then start the work by clicking on the Start button on the operations, and once it is completed, click on the Done button.
- 15. Enterprise ● Now that the blocked work order has been completed, the operation of the Assemble cable management box is in the Ready stage. ● Then start the work, and once it is completed, Done the operation.
