HPE InfoSight for HPE 3PAR StoreServ
Global Visibility QuickStart
HPE InfoSight for 3PAR StoreServ
We continue to add new enhancements and are excited to share them with
you and hear your feedback!
– Getting Started
– This guide will help with the basics of logging into the portal for the first time,
configuring and verifying your HPE Passport account, registering your systems, inviting
your colleagues and partners to share access, using the portal’s context sensitive help,
and engaging with our Portal Support team for any questions, comments, feedback or
issues you have when exploring the portal.
– About the 24-48 hour lag
– Most all system details exposed in the portal (with the exception of VMware performance) are
lagged about 1-2 days from the point of collection. See the “Last Update” for the last data point
we processed for a given system. This is something we plan to improve in our future releases
with a move to streaming for a more “near real-time” portal experience.
– Context-sensitive Help
– Look for icons and select them to expose the help topic
– Resources > HPE InfoSight Portal Support
– If you have any questions, or encounter any issues while using the portal
– Please click on the embedded links to engage our Portal Support
– Using these links will provide us with your detailed user profile information, this debug info
will assure our team can resolve any inquiries quickly
– Please do not engage HPE Support (CSC) for HPE InfoSight Portal Support
– Please do not use HPE Support Center to “open a support case for your device” for
assistance with HPE InfoSight as these teams do not provide support for the HPE
InfoSight portal
– Our on-line help will guide you to use HPE Support if needed hen you have an issue
specific to your Storage System that requires attention or support intervention
– The Portal Support team may guide you to contact HPE Support if you are having
issues with your system’s remote connectivity (call home)

30 Day Trial
All systems with Hardware Warranty only, or Foundation Care
support contracts will automatically receive a 30-Day Trial upon
registration
– Provides an opportunity for the customer to acquire, renew or upgrade
their support contract while using the portal with full capabilities

any entitlement issues
– When the 30-Day Trial expires, details for systems under Hardware
Warranty only will no longer be exposed for reporting
– Systems with Foundation Care entitlement will continue to see all
system details, but will no longer receive Wellness Status & Summary
email notifications
– Verify entitlement is registered properly (SN is linked to the SAID)
via HPE Support Center Warranty Check
HPE Partner lab & demo systems
– Contact HPE InfoSight Portal Support to request a ”whitelist” for
partner demo systems without active entitlement, allowing these
systems to be exposed in the portal without constraints based on
entitlement
5
HPE InfoSight for HPE Storage
– Users are automatically redirected from
www.storefrontremote.com to infosight.hpe.com
– HPE InfoSight provides all of the details previously
available via HPE StoreFront Remote (SFRM)
– All system registrations and user customization has been
preserved for our legacy users
– Users with legacy Nimble Storage InfoSight logins will
need to assure their HPE Passport email address
matches their Nimble account email address and that
their passwords are unique.
– Users will need to login using HPE Passport and verify
their email before registering any new HPE Storage
Systems (3PAR StoreServ/StoreOnce/RMC)

Cross-stack Analytics for VMware Overview
Noisy Neighbors
– Quickly assess the
performance of VMs that
are using the same
datastore as the selected
VM, and understand if
resource contention from
other VMs is potentially
effecting performance
– Instantly identify specific
VMs within datastores that
are experiencing higher
than acceptable latency
as well as which
datastores and VMs are
the busiest (I/Os) within
the virtual environment.
Quickly drill down into the
details of each specific
object (datastore or VM) to
determine root cause of
issues.
– Neighboring VMs are VMs
that have one or more
virtual disks that reside on
the same datastore as the
selected VM
– Size of rectangle
represents the number of
IOPS to the datastore or
VM over the last 24 hours.
– Color represents the
average latency
30
Noisy Neighbors
Datastore to see
all VMs in the
Datastore
– Get Datastore
details or VM
details by clicking
on the linked
name
– Use the Datastore
object tree to see
all neighboring
VMs in a list or in
an IO Contention
Trend chart
– Use View to
explore CPU and
Memory
contention
31
VM or Application Performance Issues
Noisy Neighbors Trends on Host and Storage
– We added IO
