IPSD PROGRAMME OUTLINE
THE BALANCED LEADER: BEING 'EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT'
"Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and further when the wheels are in perfect alignment,
you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals and values are in balance." ~ Brian Tracy
Overview:
Leaders must accept that as social beings, our emotions form a big part of us. However,
most of us have been traditionally conditioned to leave emotions 'at home' and carry
with us this erroneous belief that cold hard logical ‘intelligence' is all we need in the
workplace to be a good leader.
In viewing emotions differently, if one can look at it as another form of 'intelligence', a
balanced leader can be a touchstone and bring about greater collaboration, a higher
level of influence with others, more productivity and effectiveness in organisations.
The key to being a great (not just good) leader who is both balanced and effective is to
be emotionally-intelligent; someone who goes beyond being effective and to be
affective as well.
Learning Objectives:
• Deeper appreciation of how emotional intelligence is critical for leadership development
• Recognise and develop the five competencies of a Balanced Leader
• Create a more conducive and collaborative environment in the workplace
• Use their emotions and energy positively to motivate self and others and to reduce conflicts and increase performance
iLEADERSHIP: LEADERSHIP BEGINS WITH 'I'
"We must become the change we want to see". ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Overview:
Self-leadership is the foundation for all leadership and management; how can you lead
(or manage) others if you cannot even lead and manage yourself?
iLeadership is all about you, not others. It is about how you can create a holistic,
integrated and principled-centred approach towards leading yourself and others. The
aim of this workshop is to help you achieve your highest aspirations and overcome
greatest challenges both in the workplace and personal life.
You will get to experience how leadership can begin with “I” (yourself) and make use of
an enabling process to help you discover and understand yourself better. Through this
self-understanding, you can steer your life, both professionally and personally, in the
right direction.
Learning Objectives:
• Establish one’s personal vision and mission
• Assess one’s own values and motivations
• Apply the 10 principles of self-leadership into one’s life
• Assess one’s self-leadership developmental plan
INFLUENTIAL LEADERSHIP: COMMUNICATING WITH IMPACT
"Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either sucesss or failure in the mind of
another". ~ Napoleon Hill
Overview:
Good leaders know they possess the power to get others to act but the great
leaders are the ones who know that they not only have the power and the
ability to get others to act, not just purely out of fear or extrinsic motivation but
that they can also inspire others to take action from within.
An influential leader knows how to influence others without the apparent
exertion of force, compulsion or direct command (also called power in the
workplace). Through this workshop, participants will get to understand how to
influence others positively through impactful communications and
interactions.
Learning Objectives:
• Differentiate the use of power and influence when leading and interacting with others
• Harness the power of influence to one’s advantage in an organisation and team
• Play up your ideas to create the buy-in and make things happen in the team and the organisation
• Adopt appropriate strategies to manage different groups of people

D.R.E.A.M COACHING: CREATING SUCCESS IN OTHERS
"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."
~ William Shakespeare
Overview:
Coaching, in general, is about helping someone else expand and apply his or
her skills, knowledge and abilities, and it usually takes place within a defined
context, such as specific task, skill or responsibility.
As a leader, the ability to coach others effectively is an essential skill. When a
leader is able to help others achieve success through guiding them, giving
feedback effectively and helping them perform at their best, he or she will be

INTUITIVE LEADERSHIP: EXPLORING SENSE-MAKING & INTUITION AS A LEADER
"Intuition does not denote something contrary to reason, but something outside of the province of reason." ~ Carl Jung
Overview:
The Chief Creative Officer, Paul Bennett of innovation firm TED says that
Singaporeans are too cautious for its own good. The Googles and the
Facebooks of this world were all created and led by people who ran on gut and
intuition. They had no benchmarks to fall on, no role models, no right answers.
As leaders, we are inundated with information. Between figures and data,
sometimes it takes a leader’s courage, gut and intuition to make that tough
decisions and to take the road less travelled.
This workshop builds upon the studies and cases involving sense-making in
organisations and how the practice of mindful leadership helps busy
executives to slow down, reflect, and listen to their heart and not just the head.
Learning Objectives:
• Gain better understanding of how our mind works in decision-making
• Develop steps in situation assessment using both hard and soft data
• Create a greater sense of being in the moment so as to be in control of situations
• Enhance your organisation of information to understand what is happening around you

DRIVING CHANGE & ESTABLISHING SUSTAINABILITY
"If you don't create change, change will create you." ~ Unknown
Overview:
Every organisation is where it is today because of change. Although the
absence of change is death of the future for many organisations, its presence
brings with it frustrations, anxiety and sometimes disintegration. Building
change leadership skills will give you a tremendous impact on the results you
can achieve for your team and organisation.
The people who are most often affected by change, end up having to
implement change. These are the people who have to contribute their ideas,
energy and efforts to create value for the organisation.
In this one-day workshop, you will experience how change affects and impacts

SAILING THROUGH CONFLICTS - NEGOTIATING SKILLFULLY IN TOUGH SITUATIONS
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.” ~ Albert Einstein

THE FROG IN THE POT: GETTING YOUR SUCCESS BACK
"Do you want to spend your life selling sugar water or do you want to change the world? Don't lose sight of the big vision." ~ Steve Jobs
Overview:
Do you recall the story of how the frog was cooked in the pot of hot water? It
died without even knowing that it was being cooked to death. And that is what
happens when we do not stop, and take stock of what is happening around us,
what is driving us and where we are heading.
Steve Jobs’ mantra in life is always to live life passionately because it is passion
that drives you. Knowing yourself and using the right tools, this workshop is

monotony environment which is your ‘boiling pot’ and set you on your path to

ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF A MULTI-GENERTIONAL TEAM
The role of a manager or leader in this day and age has now grown to manage the performance of the people under their
employ, and not just working on achieving their KPIs.
Overview:
The existence of the multi-generation workforce poses unique challenges to
today’s business environment. A lack of understanding regarding
generational differences contributes to conflict within working relationships,
lower productivity and increases turnover.
More seasoned staff can become frustrated by a seemingly aloof younger
generation. Younger staff can become disenfranchised with entrenched
hierarchical structures. Moreover, those employees stuck in the middle can
become frustrated with everyone. In the global economy of the 21st century,
the effective work team is one that embraces and leverages diversity,
especially harnessing the strengths of the various generations.
These workshops (Executive Level and Supervisory Level) are aimed at helping
teams increase their awareness and understanding of how to seek the
similarities despite of generational differences and provide teams with
strategies to lead them to greater performance and teamwork.
Learning Objectives:
• Describe the changing workplace
• Identify the different generations in the workplace
• Describe the characteristics of the four generations in the workplace
• Examine the stereotypes associated with each generation
• Identify potential challenges when interacting with the different generations
• Demonstrate techniques that foster respectful communication with different generations
• Develop an action plan to connect to all generations in your workplace

  • 3. 3 IPSD PROGRAMME OUTLINE THE BALANCED LEADER: BEING 'EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT' "Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and further when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals and values are in balance." ~ Brian Tracy Overview: Leaders must accept that as social beings, our emotions form a big part of us. However, most of us have been traditionally conditioned to leave emotions 'at home' and carry with us this erroneous belief that cold hard logical ‘intelligence' is all we need in the workplace to be a good leader. In viewing emotions differently, if one can look at it as another form of 'intelligence', a balanced leader can be a touchstone and bring about greater collaboration, a higher level of influence with others, more productivity and effectiveness in organisations. The key to being a great (not just good) leader who is both balanced and effective is to be emotionally-intelligent; someone who goes beyond being effective and to be affective as well. Learning Objectives: • Deeper appreciation of how emotional intelligence is critical for leadership development • Recognise and develop the five competencies of a Balanced Leader • Create a more conducive and collaborative environment in the workplace • Use their emotions and energy positively to motivate self and others and to reduce conflicts and increase performance iLEADERSHIP: LEADERSHIP BEGINS WITH 'I' "We must become the change we want to see". ~ Mahatma Gandhi Overview: Self-leadership is the foundation for all leadership and management; how can you lead (or manage) others if you cannot even lead and manage yourself? iLeadership is all about you, not others. It is about how you can create a holistic, integrated and principled-centred approach towards leading yourself and others. The aim of this workshop is to help you achieve your highest aspirations and overcome greatest challenges both in the workplace and personal life. You will get to experience how leadership can begin with “I” (yourself) and make use of an enabling process to help you discover and understand yourself better. Through this self-understanding, you can steer your life, both professionally and personally, in the right direction. Learning Objectives: • Establish one’s personal vision and mission • Assess one’s own values and motivations • Apply the 10 principles of self-leadership into one’s life • Assess one’s self-leadership developmental plan INFLUENTIAL LEADERSHIP: COMMUNICATING WITH IMPACT "Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either sucesss or failure in the mind of another". ~ Napoleon Hill Overview: Good leaders know they possess the power to get others to act but the great leaders are the ones who know that they not only have the power and the ability to get others to act, not just purely out of fear or extrinsic motivation but that they can also inspire others to take action from within. An influential leader knows how to influence others without the apparent exertion of force, compulsion or direct command (also called power in the workplace). Through this workshop, participants will get to understand how to influence others positively through impactful communications and interactions. Learning Objectives: • Differentiate the use of power and influence when leading and interacting with others • Harness the power of influence to one’s advantage in an organisation and team • Play up your ideas to create the buy-in and make things happen in the team and the organisation • Adopt appropriate strategies to manage different groups of people © 2014, ICFE Group of Companies ICFE Consultancy Group Pte Ltd • Co. The Googles and the Facebooks of this world were all created and led by people who ran on gut and intuition. They had no benchmarks to fall on, no role models, no right answers.
