- 36. Case Study #1 Company A – Email Hosting Company ì Scenario: The company needs to provide Exchange backup and archival services to their customers. Currently, they back up to servers that they manage, those servers contain both ac:ve backups and archives. These servers are housed in the same coloca:on as their Exchange servers. Also, their servers are in need of a refresh in the next year which represents a substan:al cost. ì Solu@on: Company A decides to that in the short term they will move their Exchange backup and archive files to Object Storage. They will then move their Exchange servers to the Cloud and create a DR site at a separate DC to store their backup images. In case of a disaster, they will spin up Virtual Servers in the Public Cloud.

Some of these files are accessed frequently but others need to be archived for possible future use. There is no system in place to auto-‐archive and is a :me consuming manual process.
