This document discusses four "miracles" that have enabled greater access to information and communication technologies (ICT) around the world: 1) the mobile miracle of widespread cellular connectivity, 2) the broadband miracle of growing internet access, 3) the open-source miracle of widely available free/low-cost software solutions, and 4) the cloud computing miracle that allows remote access to computing power and storage. The author argues that future ICT development projects should leverage these existing technologies by utilizing cloud services, open-source software, and mobile access in order to minimize costs and maximize accessibility worldwide.
