The paper addresses the challenge of detecting insider packet dropping attacks in multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks, which can be confused with link errors due to their similar impact on packet loss rates. It proposes a novel detection algorithm that leverages correlations between lost packets to accurately identify the source of packet loss while ensuring the truthfulness of reported packet loss information through a homomorphic linear authenticator-based public auditing architecture. The proposed solution is privacy-preserving, low in overhead, and significantly improves detection accuracy over conventional methods.
