This document proposes a knowledge management methodology based on ontologies for the tourism domain. The methodology covers the key stages of knowledge management: identifying critical knowledge, preserving knowledge through ontology development, enhancing knowledge by validating and exploiting the ontology, and updating knowledge. The methodology uses heterogeneous sources like text documents and thesauri to build an initial ontology, which is then enriched using natural language processing tools. It provides guidelines for each stage, including performing a feasibility study, choosing scenarios, and developing the ontology while ensuring consistency. The goal is to develop a reusable ontology that represents distributed and heterogeneous knowledge from multiple perspectives.
