This document discusses the implementation of a filtering algorithm to improve hearing for those with cochlear implants. Specifically, it summarizes:
1) The development of a noise reduction algorithm using the bionic wavelet transform technique, which models the human auditory system, to denoise speech signals for cochlear implants.
2) The algorithm calculates wavelet coefficients using the continuous wavelet transform and then applies a threshold to perform noise reduction.
3) Multi-channel cochlear implants use an electrode array to stimulate different places in the cochlea corresponding to different frequencies, exploiting the place mechanism to code frequencies.
