This paper presents a modified identity-based cryptosystem (MIBC) to enhance intrusion detection in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs), addressing security challenges associated with existing identity-based systems. The MIBC achieved an impressive intrusion detection ratio of 99.3% and a lower computation time of 1.17 ms compared to its predecessor, demonstrating its effectiveness in securing vehicular communications. The implementation utilizes elliptic curve cryptography and pseudo-identities to ensure privacy and secure member authentication.
