Students from Excelsior American School in Gurgaon designed Hindi workbooks using recycled paper to educate children from the local slums. Each day, the students and their mentor visited the children's homes to teach them using the workbooks. The children then came to the school to learn in a more formal environment and participated in dance, music, clay modeling, and sports. The tutors hoped that by starting education for these children, they would empower the next generation and create positive change.

- 2. With the view to empower the youth of tomorrow with the wisdom that they are the harbingers of change, the project of educating the children of the slums took seed. The students designed workbooks in Hindi, using used/waste sheets. Every day the students along with their mentor visited their homes and taught them. Thereafter the eager learners came to the school and learned in the schools’ environment. They enthused themselves doing dance, music, clay modeling, sports etc.

- 5. It has been rightly said “The best thing you can give someone is a chance” The tutors and their pupils were enjoying themselves so much that time just flew . We at our level have made a beginning ! The seeds have been sown, its just a matter of time before The tree starts bearing fruit !!!
