This document analyzes and compares the digipak designs of two indie bands - Arctic Monkeys and Alt-J. It finds that while both adhere to some conventions like consistent color schemes and fonts, they differ in their visual approaches. Arctic Monkeys uses a dull-colored photo of the band, keeping the band as the main focus. In contrast, Alt-J takes a more conceptual approach without images of the band, instead using landscapes and symbols related to their music. Both designs are deemed effective for the indie genre by being visually appealing while focusing more on the music than the personas of the artists.
