- 2. INFANT:- An infant is a very young child, usually from birth to about one year old. Infants are in the early stage of life and need a lot of care and attention from their parents or caregivers. Stages in Infancy :
- 3. (0-5 Months) Fine motor skills: • Your new born will respond by moving his/her arm if anything interesting catches the eye. • Naturally grasps small objects that are placed in his/her hand, but can't watch and follow objects as well as holding them for a longer period of time. Gross motor skills: • Your baby keeps rolling over from front to back and vice-versa. • Initially tries to sit with support. Ability to sit independently follows very soon.
- 4. Language development: • Babies tend to smile, coo, and make sounds. They also cry differently to communicate different needs. • Babbles and makes both short and long groups of sounds
