Initial Reaction
At the current moment I don’t have a lot of ideas, the only couple of ideas that I have are making a PC
game where you have to complete small levels as some type of character. The levels could include
dodging objects or people and or jumping over things as well as climbing, and maybe fighting enemies.
When I made my Irn-Bru advergame, I was quite good at making the pixel art characters. However, that is
the only idea that I can think of at this moment in time.

Mood Board Analysis
The images that I have collected are all very similar to each other. They all are quite dark images that are set in a post
apocalyptic setting or a war setting. They are all side scrolling games and use the same colours. The colours that are
repeated in most of the images that I gathered are black, white, and greys. There is also a few dark greens as well as a
few sunset orange colours. The mood from the images gives of a very dark, depressing look as most of the colours are
quite dark. One of the reasons for that is probably because most of the images that I selected and gathered were post-
apocalyptic and war themed, as I am making my video game post-apocalyptic. The style of the images I collected vary
from pixel art to a cartoony look as well as a detailed side view. The fonts in the images that have text are quite cartoon
looking and in one of the images is bold. A lot of the images that I have chosen for my mood board are desaturated,
which fits in with the post-apocalyptic theme.
The mood board will influence my final product in many ways, one being that it will influence the colour palette I will
use when creating my video game. It will also determine the art style that I use which has to be pixel art but I am using
the mood board as inspiration for the type of pixel art I use.
Schedule
WEEK OVERALL PLAN SPECIFIC TASKS
1
Case Study, Initial Response,
Product Research
 To research one game of my choice can be a PC game, PlayStation game, Xbox
game, or a phone game.
 Think of some ideas for a game and create a mind map on the ideas as well as a
mind map on your final idea.
 Create a mood board on images related to my game I have chosen
2
Audience Research, Production
Experiments, Proposal, Planning
-Write about my games target audience and explain why they are my audience.
-Create a mock up video game, practising for my final design (video game). Experiment
with pixel art and the tools on Photoshop.
- Plan my video game out so I have a clear view on what I am making.
-Complete proposal which includes: Title of my game; Rationale; Concept of game, and
write how I will evaluate my video game.
3
Production  Create my video game using Photoshop.
4
Production  Create my video game using Photoshop.
5
Evaluation Evaluate my video game through analysing my game and its outcomes.
Reference my game and complete a self-reflection. I will need to explain how my
video game turned out, and will need to talk about what I would change if I were
to do it again. Explain the positives and negatives of my video game, and then go
on to talk about what I like the most about it.
