This document proposes ways that information and communication technology (ICT) could be used to enhance teaching and learning at Hurupaki School. It recommends a three-phase approach: 1) Developing the school library as a hub for student access to information; 2) Integrating ICT into classroom programs across subjects; 3) Creating an e-learning classroom environment with multimedia resources. The benefits of ICT cited include facilitating collaborative and inquiry-based learning, providing access to vast information resources, and developing skills like critical thinking. Professional development for teachers is seen as vital to successfully implementing ICT. Low-cost initial steps are also suggested.
