- 5. inSIGHT is committed to reducing NPT (Non-Productive Time) and maximizing meters drilled with each bit run. The advanced features of inSIGHT’s MWD (Measurement While Drilling) equipment combined with our drillers technical expertise allows us to recognize optimal as well as detrimental drilling conditions where corrective actions are required. Identifying Drillstring Dysfunction and adjusting drilling parameters accordingly eliminates the need for costly shock and vibration dampening tools Drillstring Dysfunction is a result of inefficient MSE (Mechanical Specific Energy) which is calculated on energy applied to the drilling process vs. the result of that energy Distinguishing an optimal baseline of drilling parameters and observing variations in MSE / ROP aids in identifying Drillstring Dysfunction, Lithology changes, Bit Dulling or Balling and Motor performance Early Detection of adverse drilling conditions greatly reduces total drilling and risk by extending BHA, downhole tool and bit life Shock and Vibration also referred to as “Harmonic Frequency” occurs naturally while drilling and is measured in “G’s” with 1G = Force of Gravity.
