This is shown at the start to show the audience who presents this film, so if a member of the audience is a fan of Paramount productions, they instantly know that this is going to be a quality film which they’ll enjoy. Lindsay Lohan is the main character of the film, so her name is shown at the start to educate the audience on this fact. Lindsay’s name is also shown so that a member of the public who are fans of Lindsay Lohan, know that this film is going to be enjoyable for them. A long shot is used to show the audience figures, and these figures represent high school student who are being rebellious. This symbolises how schools are stereotyped for new students; a new school is scary. A mid shot is used, to show pupils in a class room, sat at desk. You could also say that this is a point of view shot, from the personal view of the lead character Kady.

Not only is he the director, he is the creator of the film. This is an establishing shot, and in the shot I can see a deserted, dark place. Again this matches up with the film title and the narrative of the film. Johnny Depp stars in many of Tim burton’s films and since Johnny is the star of the show, his name is shown first of all actors in this film. The camera angle used in this shot is a bird’s eye shot which is used to show the audience where the characters are. The name Helena Bonham Carter is also known for starring in Tim Burton’s films, so a member of the audience who is a fan of her will enjoy the film. A long shot is used to show the girl as small, this symbolises how she might be powerless against all the doomy, dark background surrounding her. This also matches with the film title and the narrative of the film.
