This document investigates energy-efficient protocols for enhancing the lifetime of heterogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSNs) through the proposed HPEEA protocol, which utilizes concentric clustering. The study compares HPEEA's performance with established protocols, SEP and CCS, demonstrating a significant reduction in energy consumption and an increase in network stability and lifetime. Simulation results indicate that HPEEA outperforms both SEP and CCS by a notable margin in terms of dead node counts after extensive operational rounds.
