This document provides 33 steps to set up a new Cape iPad for a student. It guides the student through setting up the iPad by having them select English and United States, choose iPad Enrollment, enter the password "vikings1", enable Location Services, log in with their first and last name as the username and their School ID as the password. - 1. Getting Started with your Cape iPad (new students) If your iPad is on your desk, please do not do anything with it yet.
- 6. Step 5 Password is vikings1 *All Lowercase
- 8. Step 7 Click Next *If you can’t click Next because it is grayed out, raise your hand
- 9. Step 7 Username: firstnamelastname (no spaces) Password:School ID Click Next
- 10. Step 8 Click Create a Free Apple ID
- 12. Step 10 Insert Your First Name Last Name Click Next
- 13. Step 11 Click Get a Free iCloud email address Click Next
- 14. Step 12 Create an icloud email If it is something that’s common you may have to add numbers or a symbol. *Write this down so you don’t forget it. Click Create
- 15. Step 13 Create an Apple ID password Be sure it follows the guidelines *Write this down so you don’t forget it. Click Next
- 16. Step 14 Pick 3 Questions and answer them Click Next
- 17. Step 15 If you have an extra email address you can type it here Click Next
- 18. Step 16 Keep this on (green) Click Next
- 19. Step 17 Scroll Up Click Agree
- 21. Step 19 Click Use iCloud
- 22. Step 20 Click Find My iPad
- 23. Step 21 Click Upgrade to iCloud Drive
- 24. Step 22 Put in a passcode that you will remember
- 25. Step 23 Click Set Up Later
- 26. Step 24 Click Get Started
- 27. Steps 25 & 26 Click Sign In Click Use Existing Apple ID
- 29. Step 28 Click United States Click Next
- 30. Step 28 Scroll Up & Click Agree
- 32. Step 30 Put a check next to NONE
- 33. Step 31 Follow these directions Mr. or Miss Your last name Your first name
- 35. Step 33 Type in the password you created for your Apple ID Click OK
- 36. If you scroll to the second page you should see this icon. This is where you will get your apps!
- 37. Things to remember… ❖ This iPad is property of the Cape Henlopen School District. ❖ You are responsible for the care and content of the device. ❖ If you have problems with your device go to the library and a work ticket will be created for you. ❖ It is highly recommended that you purchase insurance. You will need your serial number for this, that can be found in the settings and click general.
