This document describes two case studies of IT hardware sourcing projects. The first case study was for an $8 billion candy and confections company, and resulted in 40% savings on desktop computers through a competitive bidding process. The second case study was for a $10 million IT hardware spend at another large multinational company, and delivered $3.5 million or 35% savings through market analysis and vendor evaluation. Both projects aimed to reduce total cost of ownership, improve quality and service levels, and gain pricing transparency through new vendor partnerships.
