2. Students are to use devices for school-related purposes only and at the discretion of the
teacher. Students are responsible for their own devices and must not use them for
personal use, bullying, or harassment. A link to the guidelines can be found here:

3. The platform that will be used in my classroom is Google Apps/Chrome, such as Google
Classroom. This allows students to communicate with each other as well as the teacher.
They can see documents and activities online and track their progress in the class.
Students and teachers will be able to create presentations and share projects in one
organized place that every student has access to. A link to more information about this
app can be found here:
http://internet.savannah.chatham.k12.ga.us/district/ddi/it/google/default.aspx.
4. The Bring Your Own Device Program for Savannah-Chatham County Schools makes it
optional for students to bring their own devices, so it will not impact their grade if they
do not have one. In order to accommodate students that do not have their own devices
when they are being used in class, those students will have the option of using school
computers/laptops or working with partners to complete activities in class. There will
also be the option of using devices that are checked out from the media center.
5. Students will be able to work with partners and occasionally in groups. This will help
accommodate the students that do not have their own devices and give all students an
opportunity to learn from each other about digital technology. Students will be paired
according to what devices they have or do not have (such as a student with no device
being paired with another student with a laptop). They will then be paired up according
to their skill level in order to differentiate instruction.
6. Appropriate apps for students in 8th grade Spanish:
a. Kahoot-allows students to test their knowledge of content area and creates
competition among them to engage them in the activity.
b. Chegg Flashcards-allows students to create Flashcards to review new vocabulary.
Students can also divide the vocabulary in groups (such as nouns, verbs, adjectives,
colors, seasons, etc).
c. Word Reference-this will allow students to look up vocabulary words but also see
them in context so that they don’t choose the wrong word.
d. Hello Talk-Allows students to chat with anyone around the world. It also blocks
users from seeing profile pictures to give the users added privacy.
e. DuoLingo-This app lets students learn based on their level and divides content up into
different sections. Students can do voice recordings, listen to native speakers, see
photos, do activities, and get translations.
f. Google Earth-Can be used for culture and geography lessons related to different
Spanish-speaking countries.
g. World Newspapers-Students can have access to Spanish-language authentic reading
materials from around the world, which can be incorporated into lessons.
