Introduction ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery (www.acm.org), is the premier global community of computing professionals and students with nearly 100,000 members in more than 170 countries interacting with more than 2 million computing professionals worldwide. In recent years, KIIT University has become a global platform. To add a new feather to this global standard of our university, we, some students of School of Computer Engineering started this KIIT University ACM Student Chapter on 3rd October, 2016, with the motivation, inspiration and guidance of our faculty sponsor Mr. Rajdeep Chatterjee, Assistant Professor, SCE, KIIT University. All of our faculty including our Dean, Prof. Samaresh Mishra supported us in this noble cause.

An email forwarding address – Chapter members are eligible for a “@acm.org” email forwarding address with filtering Receipt of ACM’s Popular E-Newsletters – TechNews, the latest news in computing; CareerNews, the latest career and industry news; and MemberNet, all about ACM people and events A full-year electronic subscription to XRDS, ACM's Student Magazine (quarterly)

Student Awards and Competitions - ACM Student Awards and Competitions were created to recognize chapters and individuals that display considerable initiative and ambition throughout the year. ACM holds 4 main competitions throughout the year: ICPC: International Collegiate Programming Contest SRC: Student Research Competition Student Chapter Excellence Awards Upsilon Pi Epsilon ACM Student Scholarship Award

Chapter Web Tools – Website hosting, wikis and blogs Chapter Website Template - ACM has developed a custom ACM WordPress theme with the look-and-feel of the main ACM site http://campus.acm.org/public/infodir/wordpress.cfm Local Activities Calendar – Let Chapter Members, ACM Members, and other computing professionals, know about your upcoming events Chapter Outreach - ACM offers to publicize noteworthy chapter events to ACM members in their geographical area. Chapters are limited to one message per month. If a group of Chapter organizers needs assistance in recruiting members, ACM will send a message on their behalf Promotional Materials - ACM can provide Chapters with materials for Chapter events or recruitment drives
- 8. Benefits of ACM Student Chapter : Contd Chapter Member Newsletter– Receive a quarterly update on all the latest and greatest happenings, specific to ACM Chapters. ACM Distinguished Speakers Program – an outreach program of ACM that brings distinguished speakers from academia, industry, and government to give presentations to ACM chapters. Recognition of Service Certificates – Recognition of service certificates for outgoing chairpersons who have served at least one year in office will be issued free of charge upon written request. ACM Business Insurance Coverage – The Commercial Package covers ACM legal liability for negligent acts on the part of ACM employees, volunteers, and ACM Chapters causing bodily injury, personal injury, or property damage to a third party up.

- 10. Group Members Chapter can not run with only the officers. At present we have 13 ACM members (paid) and more than 28 chapter member(non paid). Different members are assigned to different roles Members are broadly categorized into Design Team, Event Management Team, Publicity Team All teams work together to organise events.

Membership Policy As per the ACM instructions, we have two types of members: ACM Members (paid): These people pay ACM membership fees to ACM Chapter Members (free): These people are not registered with ACM. They need not to pay membership fees to ACM. Chapter Officers must be ACM members (paid). Only the ACM members can take part in voting for officer selection. All members can have access to the online resources shared by ACM
- 13. Events Our ACM chapter has organised quite a fair number of events till date with its limited resources. Events includes: Evening lecture by In House Faculties on specialized and emerging topics. Evening hands on session by expert Students on trending Technologies like: Python, Java Script, P5.js etc. Guest lecture by experts from Industry / Academics. All the events are free of cost and open to all students.

ACM Tech Talk This is the biggest event organised by our chapter in collaboration with KIIT FEST Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh from HCL India delivered interesting talk about advance robotics, computer vision, machine learning. More than 80 students participated. This was the first ACM Tech Talk Many more versions of it to come.

- 21. Golden Opportunity According to the information available in the ACM website, our ACM chapter is the ONLY ONE ACTIVE Chapter in All Over Odisha. So we have tremendous opportunities, including taking a leading role in opening more such ACM student chapters in Odisha. We can play a significant role in creating awareness of digital Literacy in the state of Odisha.
- 22. Conclusion Our ACM Student Chapter is very young and emerging It is the only one ACM Chapter in all over Odisha(as per the data available in the ACM website). So it has tremendous opportunities and possibilities in creating digital awareness.
