DEFINATION
• Leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act toward
achieving a common goal.

WHAT IS LEADERSHIP ?
• Leadership refers to an organization's management structure.
• A leader inspires others to act while simultaneously directing the way
that they act.
• They must be personable enough for others to follow their orders,
and they must have the critical thinking skills to know the best way to
use the resources at an organization's disposal.

HOW DOES LEADERSHIP WORK
• In business, leadership is linked to
performance, and any leadership definition
has to take that into account. Therefore,
while leadership isn't intrinsically linked to
profit, those who are viewed as effective
leaders in corporate contexts are the ones
who increase their company's bottom line.
• If an individual in a leadership role does not
meet profit expectations set by boards,
higher management, or shareholders, they
may be terminated.

LEADERSHIP IN THE WORKPLACE
BASICS
• Learning effective leadership especially in
workplace can be challenging and
painstaking.
• There are different leadership requirement
that should be needed.
• Although there is no definite guide to
become a leader, leadership itself is a
learning process.
• Your subordinated learn from you and you
also learn from them.

Managers are mainly
responsible for keeping
everything in good working
order.
They direct and supervise their
subordinates to work and
productivity.
They make sure that everyone
doing their job.
Leaders are path maker
that direct all efforts
toward the path of growth
and success.
They plan and coordinate
everyone's job to unify
result.
They delegate task and
motivate subordinates to
do their best.
Good leaders are capable of aligning their subordinates goals with the business
goals.

To become an effective leader you need to meet certain leadership
requirements.
There are 3 main factor that make up a good leader.

SCOPE OF KNOWLEDGE
• Leadership is not about how much you know but about how you
apply and impart what you know.
• As a leader you should know what you are capable of and what you
can do to help your subordinates.
• You must be aware of your strength and weaknesses including your
limitations.
• Knowing yourself is the key to strengthening your emotional
intelligence.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• Communication is at the core of effective leadership. If you want to
influence and inspire your team, you need to practice empathy and
transparency, and understand how others perceive you, through your
verbal and non-verbal cues.
• Effective communication is vital to gain trust, align efforts in the
pursuit of goals, and inspire positive change. When communication is
lacking, important information can be misinterpreted, causing
relationships to suffer and, ultimately, creating barriers that hinder
progress.
