- 3. LANGUAGE TRAINING What does Learnwell do differently from the other language training companies? We have over 40 experienced teachers. References and the teachers' introductions can be found on our website. We organize courses in over 18 languages at client’s premises or at our own premises. "Try before you buy". - 4. LANGUAGE TRAINING What does Learnwell do differently from the other language training companies? Our teaching methods emphasize functional communication, the ability to use language in any given situation. We use custom-made course materials and authentic materials. Students who study English or Swedish with Learnwell receive a free copy of the newspaper Helsinki Times or Hufvudstadsbladet respectively, delivered to their home each week throughout the course, as part of the course material.

THE LANGUAGE Project Name: MENU The Language Menu Website: http://www.learnwell.fi (Teacher’s material) Project Goals: The ultimate goal of the project is to provide teachers from all over the world with free online tools to create teaching material in an easier, more accessible and more fun way. Teachers seeking to use web-based activities in their classroom and students who seek material for independent study will find a common space on The Language Menu website.

TOOLS FOR TEACHERS WORKSHOPS Project name: Tools For Teachers Workshops in 2007-2011 Languages: English and Swedish Project goals: A workshop containing information about how to make free worksheets online, how to use the worksheets and other prompts in language teaching. Each participant receives a package of material, ideas and links to where they can create their own material. LANGUAGE ON THE MOVE Project name: Language On The Move in 2008-2010 Website: http://move-language.eu Partners: Finland, Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia Project goals: The main purpose of the project was to reach people who use public transport (PT) to travel to Baltic and Nordic countries to work, to study or for other purposes and help them to realise the importance of learning the language of a destination country and to accept norms of courtesies and behaviour they should follow while in a country. VÅRDSVENSKA Project name: Vårdsvenska 2009-2011 Website: Website coming soon at http://www.vardsvenska.fi Project goals: The project started with the idea of giving nurses the opportunity to learn the second official language in Finland, Swedish, to then search for work in the Swedish speaking areas. The instigator for the project was The Swedish Cultural foundation. The project consists of an on-line course in Swedish for nurses, specifically aimed at nurses from Russia. - 13. business_mail Project name: business_mail, 2010-2012 Website: Coming soon Partners: Finland, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria Project goals: The project addresses the needs of marketing/sales personnel of small enterprises (SE) having or wishing to establish business contacts with foreign partners. The final product of the project will be a validated on-line course in English business correspondence covering the actual communication problems encountered in import/ export practice of SEs. EMPOWERMENT OF IMMIGRANT WOMEN Project name: Nordic Network For Empowerment Of Immigrant Women Without Prior Education Experience, 2010-2011 Website: Coming soon Partners: Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway Project goals: The overall objective of the project is to form a Nordic network consisting of VET organisations, Adult Education organisations, NGOs working with integration and gender equality, Social Welfare Offices and Public Employment Centres for pooling experience and knowledge in order to elaborate a strategy for assistance of immigrant women without prior education into the vocation/professional education system in the participating countries. LEARNING THROUGH TEACHING (LETE) Project name: Learning through teaching, 2012-2014 Website: Coming soon Partners: Latvia (coordinator), Turkey, Finland, Poland, Italy Project goals: The aim of the project is for the partners to provide good practices, experiences, methods and seminars on adult education for implementing European Key competencies for lifelong learning and multicultural learning in their organizations and communities (based on the "Key Competencies for Lifelong Learning — A European Reference Framework" of the European Council of March 2000 in Lisbon). LANGLETE IN ESTFIT Project name: Language learning and teaching in Estonia, Finland and Italy, 2012-2014 Website: Coming soon Partners: Estonia, Finland, Italy Project goals: The aim of the project is to exchange experience with other Finnish and Italian institutions offering language courses for adults. Through the work in meetings, seminar and lessons and the work in virtual classrooms, the partners will work out new methodologies that will develop the learners’ communication skills and business language. LEARNING FOR INTEGRATION RY Project name: Playgroups for Kids, Activate your language, Workshop for teachers Website: www.lfi.fi Project goals: Learning for Integration ry (LFI) is a Finnish non-profit organisation that promotes the learning of languages and cultural sensitivity of migrant, immigrant and refugee children and youth in Finland and other Nordic countries through acitivities such as workshops, playgroups, language tutoring and language cafés.
