- 2. For Philippine schools, even for private ones catering to children of a well-to-do families, the so-called tablet-for-learning is still futuristic. Given, however, the recognized impact of technology in education, the future may be not too far away. MORMS School Guinobatan, Albay
- 3. Books are still the primary medium of instruction in schools. But there are now perceptions that virtual literacy may very well ease out textual print literacy.
- 5. The disadvantages of using books for learning are debated upon. The load of books and workbooks for every subject is back breaking due to their weight and size.
- 6. Today, technology is being viewed as a savior.
- 7. In developing countries, one book for every student is still a goal, not a reality. Publishing and printing of books for public schools are too expensive for the public purse.
- 8. Computer games have been adopted in developed countries as a learning technology along with other audio- visual aids to teaching and learning.
- 9. Educational video gaming has been shown to inculcate competencies that relate to learning concentration, lasting memory recall and higher visual literacy.
- 12. In De La Salle school, the future is now. Administrators, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders have met to discuss the use of tablets as a primary learning tool to replace the textbook.
- 13. It was argued that young students carry many heavy books to school which can be physically burdensome.
- 14. Information technology product manufactures has given the De La Salle school support by way of customized tablet designs that are conducive to higher thinking, constructive and participative teaching and learning.
